Motivation Challenge 1/03

I found a LO for today's challenge but it was kinda small so I redrew it using windows paint. I then opened up my Print Shop progam and was able to redo it in there and it definately looks better. I think I will use that program for any sketches I make on my own, or that I need to make bigger from other links. I think this one has a lot of room for adding personal touches!!

Deadline is Tuesday Jan 6th. I will then post another challenge on Wednesday January 7th. I will try to keep this schedule as much as possible. I might not always be able to do the challenges either but at least they will be out there to help us get motivated to use our stuff! LOL

I will do an update to this post with the LO I did. Hopefully finishing it today!!

I got the LO done!
WOOT WOOT!! I chose a black and white photo of my daughter and my 3 Goddaughters for this LO. I just love this picture of them.

- Title and swirl is Storybook
- Butterflies are Martha Stewart punch
- Patterned paper is Basic Grey Eva
- Plain paper is Prism
- Stampin Up marker for hand doodling on letters

-Signo white pen for lines to the butterflies and lines across the purple
- Flowers are Prima's
- Brads are Bazzil

- Tim Holz Walnut ink for the edges of the mats and photos
- Bling is Prima

Here are some close up photos.

I liked the sketch for this one and think overall it turned out pretty good.

  1. I am going to join in on the fun one of these days... so great of you to do this Shirley

  3. I have never used a Circut machine, but I see great potential. I would want to have the flexibility to design my own *.cut files. How do you do it? I have searched the internet, but no luck.

  4. The program I use is Design Studio. I have to use the shapes offered on the cartridges that I own in order to be able to cut them. I "weld" the shapes together so it will cut as an outline. If you will check on "OZ's Cricut Help Blog" in my list of favorite blogs, there is a lot of useful information on her blog. HTH!

  5. Thanks. I was reading some of Capadia Designs blog and started to realize that the 'new' templates were all from blends of other ones. I guess as a new one is created, others continue to morph them into whatever you can dream up. I will check out OZ's blog. There is an infomercial that has caught my eye and I'm trying to decide if I want to spend the money. It looks like such a cool product! Thanks again!

  6. This layout is really great. those embellished butterflies are just the right touch!

  7. If I download one of your files, I can cut it on my cricut... even if I do not have the cart. that the shape or font is on? I am new to this, so just asking.

  8. Hi Becky ~ you will need the cart it is designed with in order to cut the image. I don't mind questions at all!!

  9. beautiful LO Okie and the colours are gorgeous!

  10. Sorry if this is a stupid question... but, how do I know which cart you used when you created each of the cut files?

  11. Oh, and how can you clean your mat and make it stick again?

  12. Hey Becky ~ I usually try to say what carts are used in a cut file. But if you are unsure you can check once you open the file by doing a right click on the object. I clean mine off with warm soapy water and a scrubby sponge if they are bad, if not then I just use a baby wipe.
