An Altered Frame For My Sister - Webster's Pages

I was transferring pictures from my phone to my computer and came across this picture of my sister and myself that was taken at her son's wedding back in September. I think it might be one of the only pictures we have together by ourselves and I decided to print it off and make a frame to give to her tomorrow while we are at our Aunt Betty's for Easter. Since she doesn't have the internet this will still be a surprise for her! I thought it would be nice if we both had one of these frames so I made one for myself as well...something I rarely do! I made a matching gift bag and card with the scraps left from the frames.

Supplies Used:

8x10 wood frame
Webster's Pages, not sure of what collection
Paper Studio Poppies & Paperie flowers
Generic paper flowers
EK Success Small Daisy Punch
Chipboard
Mounting Foam
Glue Gun

Hobby Lobby was having an awesome 75% off clearance sale about two months ago and I picked up a couple of packages of the Paper Studio Poppies and Paperie flowers. Of course I have a few flowers in my stash but for the 75 cents that was marked on the package I figured I could make room for a few more and I'm so glad I did because they worked great on the frames. I did use hot glue to attach the flowers as I have found that any other type of glue or tape just doesn't cut it in the long run. I punched out some vellum flowers using the EK Success small daisy punch and added dots of Nuvo Crystal Drops for the centers. I can't find a link for the small daisy punch but it is one of my go to punches for when I need a "filler" on a project, I actually have 3 sizes of the daisy punch and love each one of them!

All the paper is from the Webster's collection and I can't rememember the name and forgot to look before I used the bottom strip as a border on the frames. I know it was from 2012 and was from one of their warehouse sales where you ordered a box for like $40 and got a TON of awesome stuff in the box.

I didn't have to do a whole lot of fussy cutting on this project but I did do some as there were some good images to use that made the project just come to life *okie wonders if anyone notices she is just typing kinda random shit about the project to make it sound interesting, and then okie wonders if anyone really reads the shit she types anyway*.

I fussy cut the large border at the bottom of the picture area and used chipboard on the back and then some mounting foam because ya know I'm all about dimension when it comes to such projects! I printed the saying "I'm as lucky as I can be because the world's best sister belongs to me" on the vellum and I used my laser printer as it does an excellent job on the vellum. I don't think this is a true vellum, but more of a "kinda like vellum and better for what okie wants to use it for" kinda paper.

After getting the frames completed I made the matching gift bag and card with the scraps left over from the papers I used for the frames. I think my sister will be surprised and pleased!

Morning Has Broken - Vinyl Project

During a trip to Houston a few years ago I got a lot of things on clearance, like 80-90% off, to decorate my kitchen and dining area. It's taken me a long time to get everything done and this one frame I had purchased was my final project to get done.

I am a coffee lover and I thought this quote was quite fitting since it is on the wall above the area where I keep my coffee pot. Speaking of which if anyone wants to buy me a coffee pot I would greatly appreciate it since mine has bit the dust. I thought I fixed it this weekend and it worked a few days but now it's back to just blinking at me!

But back to the picture frame. I'm not real sure what was up with this frame, there was no glass but the background you see is what was in the frame already and I just used EnduraMATTE, which is a indoor type vinyl and it went on the paper backing just fine.

I would write more but I'm too depressed to look at this since I can't even have a dang cup of coffee this morning!! *okie contemplates setting up a GoFundMe account for one of those fancy Ninja coffee makers*.

My Sister's Christmas Present - Altered Cabinet Door

Today I wanted to share the gift I made for my sister and brother in law for Christmas. I always have a difficult time deciding what to get them for Christmas but this past year I knew what I wanted to make for them.

One day when I was in Goodwill I found 4 glass cabinet doors and I knew I could make something out of them, especially since they were only $2 each and I actually had envisioned the project in my head when I bought the doors although I wasn't sure about the vinyl design at the time.

My friend Karen was here when I made the project and she helped me out by doing the painting while I worked on a design I liked. I had gotten knobs at Hobby Lobby a long time ago for the project so at least that part was taken care of and I didn't have to go shopping for knobs.

When I do vinyl on glass I generally always put it on the back of the glass so the front can be easily cleaned when needed and the vinyl design is safe from somehow getting messed up. I cut some templates from white cardstock and used a re-postionable Herma Dotto roller to put them on the back so my sister could easily cut pictures to size. I used some double sided tape along the frames so pictures can be added, all she has to do is pull the paper off the tape and place her picture in the frame.

She and my brother in law seemed to really like the gift. I asked them a few weeks ago if they ever got it hung up and my sister said they hadn't and my brother in law said it was because she hadn't told him where she wanted it and she then said she did tell him...and then I was sorry I asked! *okie cracks up laughing*

I gave one door to my friend Carmen when she was visiting one time and then I used another one for a wedding gift, which I will post later on and that leaves me with one more door to alter and I really wish I had a few more of these because they really turn out nice. So when you're out shopping in thrift stores always remember that even the oddest things can be made into something else!

My Daughter's Shadow Box - Graphic 45 Steampunk Spells

When you are using the same papers and embellishments it is hard to make things look differently but I was able to find a few things to help my daughter's shadow box look different than the one I did for myself.

Here is the full view of my daughter's shadowbox and when I finished and sent her the picture she said she loved it! Which she sure dang better as much time and effort as I put in the dang thang! BBWWAAHHHAHHAAA

This was what my daughter said was her favorite part of the shadowbox and I really think I love this lady as well. I used some Perfect Pearls on her feathers. I cut out one of the little flowers and layered it up to add on the hat and it covers a rose that was in that area. I didn't want to cut up a full sheet of paper so I could make the rose dimensional. The crow was on the handlebar and since I couldn't make the bird fit and it looked silly for him to be cut in half I layered him up and then made him go on the edge of the shadow box.

She did actually look a little plain until the gears, moth, cat banner and little gold embellishment at her waist was added. Oh yes and Glossy Accents on her glasses of course!

The clock square was easy enough to do but there is a lot of fussy cutting on those images. As you can see I also used a lot of pop dots in the project.

I think Dr. Dreadful shows up better in this picture than he did in the one I posted yesterday and Carmen said he was her favorite and she thought it was because of his glasses.

This little Miss Ima Fraid is the lady that was in the memory slide on my shadow box but for my daughter's box I decided to layer her up and make her pop. Once again some Perfect Pearls on the feathers add some glitz and I even did her hair with them.

See the little bats in the hot air balloon rectangle? Some of them are printed on the paper and others are fussy cut. Yes I said they were fussy cut and YES I needed my reading glasses and was trying to figure out how to tape a magnifying glass to them so it would be easier to see the little things. The banners were "waved" so they would fit in the rectangle, just like I did a sign on my shadow box.

I loved this image and I knew I had to make a sign out of it somehow but I did have to take up two rectangles to make it work. The little bottles at the bottom have lime green flock and black diamond embossing powder in them to make them potion bottles. I filled in with "charms", okay actually buttons but we will call them charms so they tie in with the sign since it says potions and charms. The little banner is from some cardstock embellies that go with the collection. I used some chain to make the sign look like it was hanging and it would have not been possible without the use of some Sobo glue. I tell ya'll that stuff is like a miracle!

I did the skeleton on this one like I did for mine but I did do a different one with using the "Love Potion" image. My daughter said she loved this rectangle because of the little bottle with the "potion" in it. I just poured a little glimmer mist in the bottle. I added some Sobo glue to the cork and then pushed it in the bottle so I could make sure the cork wouldn't come out and the potion spill out on everything.

There isn't really much to say about the last two squares since they are like the others but just different images. That and I'm tired of typing now and can't think of anything else to say!

Shadow Box - Graphic 45 Steampunk Spells

One of the Graphic45 collections that Carmen was able to pick up was Steampunk Spells. When she got it I'm not sure either one of us realized it was Halloween which was silliness on both our parts since it did say "Spells". And the crazy part is that neither of us do a lot of Halloween!

Carmen had given me two shadow boxes when I was last in Houston and my daughter had been asking about making something for Halloween so I told her we could do the shadow boxes and while she seemed excited about the whole prospect she didn't show up on the day we were suppose to make them because she had one too many shots the night before. The girl just can't handle her liquor! *okie crack up laughing*.

Since I had already planned on making mine I moved ahead without her and started mine. It took me almost a full week to finish the dang thing! I think because of all the fussy cutting and trying to figure out what would work in the little rectangles.

Here is the picture of the whole shadow box and you might need to click on the picture and make it bigger to see it better.

I think you can tell a little better in this picture how much fussy cutting was really involved. I used Glossy Accents on Dr. Dreadful's glasses to make them look like glass. I loved the Potions and Charms image and to get it to fit correctly I had to "wave" it a little. The little fence behind the crow was some border that my friend Amy sent me years ago.

See that tiny little flower on Madam Macabre's hat? Well it's about the size of my pinky nail. I thought I was going to go blind cutting that little thing out! I went through my "antique" button jar for embellishments on the project and added those here and there. The spider web in the cat rectangle was another border that my friend Amy sent me and I have been hanging on to for just the right project...and it only took like 5 years to find the right project!

It's hard to see the little beads in the memory frame but I wanted them to resemble something like pills since I couldn't figure out how to add little bone looking embellies in such a small space. The key and owl were some charms I had in stash. I picked up the little bottles the LSS and I added embossing powders in them.

I think a lot of people stopped using Ranger Inkssentials Memory Frames a few years ago since I don't see them around much anymore but I still love using them on projects and that is what image of the lady is in. All the flowers around her were fussy cut and layered. The little butterfly in the square to the left is layered as well.

I'm not sure what airballoons have to do with Halloween other than they are orange but I really liked them and wanted to incorporate them into the shadow box and since there is a full sheet of them in the collection I knew they had to match. The clock on the skeleton's hat was cut out again and then pop dotted and Glossy Accents added and all that work was worth the end result.

The banner was from a package of banner's that goes with the collection and these worked out great for the space. The metal gears are some embellies I bought off a Facebook group probably last year and I did have Graphic45 paper in mind when I purchased them and they were perfect as embellishment on the shadow box.

I did end up making the shadow box for my daughter as well and I will post it tomorrow. I did try to make it look different but they do look quite a bit a like.

My Cowboy - Altered Frame

I go through phases of doing different projects and a few years ago I was on a kick of altering frames and gave those out as prizes at one of my Christmas parties and I had planned on doing some for a craft fair that Linda and I did *okie remembers what a bomb that was* but I never finished any of them. The other day while perusing through my craft closet I came across two frames that had almost been completed and thought I should go ahead and finish them although I have no use for them.

When ya live in Oklahoma there is never a shortage of cowboys and I am sure that is why I went with the cowboy theme. I think the title came from Miss Kate's Cuttables and I have no idea where the rope, wagon wheel and hay bale came from, like I said this was a few years ago.

One time when Linda and I were in Tuesday Morning they had a bunch of frames in the clearance and I snatched up quite a few, especially since they were only about 2 bucks a piece. This frame holds a 4x6 picture and think the others do as well but are different sizes.

One of the things that always make things look so nice is that little extra step of embellishing. I sanded the paper, Coredinations to be exact, and did some inking on some of the pieces. The denim, bandana and burlap paper all came from Hobby Lobby's open stock of paper. You can't see them in this picture but in the first picture you can see some stars I added. They are hotfix stars so they will stay on there pretty good.

Now I just have to find a purpose for the two frames. I think my next ones are going to be a bit more generic so they can be more easily used.

Baby Frame

I have seen a lot of the "baby frame" ideas and while I have plenty of canvas and a few frames around when I got ready to make one I wanted it to be a little more than just the name, date of birth and other birth information so I got a little inventive.

Remember the shadow box frame I showed a few days ago and I said I had a few more of them? Well I broke another one out for this project. If the store would have had 20 of these I would have bought them all but I think I actually only ended up with like 5 or 6. I think I ended up spending about 80 cents or so on each one as they were like 90 percent off. Anyway, back to the frame.

My niece had her baby Saturday morning and by morning I mean like EARLY! My daughter and I had went up on Friday and stayed until about 10:30 that night and since my niece wasn't progressing I decided we would go ahead and go home. If I had thought to take a contact case, some solution and my glasses we would have waited it out but I really thought it was going to go faster than that, but there is no rushing things when it comes to birthing them babies!

Well dang, okay now about the frame *okie so hates the squirrels that tend to run her life*. Like I said I love the idea of the frames but I wanted it a bit more personal so I got information from my other niece, Amber, and her mother, Teresa *okie would say her cousin but then would have to explain about why her nieces mother is her cousin and thinks that needs a post of it's own* about what Marissa was going to have for the decorations of Lane's room. After they sent me a few pictures I had a good idea about what to do in the frame and what colors to use. Amber was good enough to send me pictures of Lane and didn't even complain when I told her "okay now I need one of him by himself".

I knew I needed a deer, some chevron and an arrow and I wanted to add a picture of Lane to the frame to make it more personal than just the information so I got into MTC and played around with a few things and once I got my pieces that I wanted I started finding different fonts for the information. Since the deer head was going to be large I knew I could put it in the background and allow lettering to cover it but I needed open space for the other items. Once I got the all the elements in place I moved and resized the information to make it fit where I wanted *okie so loves Make The Cut* and it was rather easy to do.

Once again I used some burlap for the background *okie wonders if everyone has pieces of burlap laying around like she does* because on this particular frame it just went nicely with the elements. In order to get the pieces to stick to the burlap I use some Sobo glue and guys if you haven't tried this stuff let me tell ya it is beyond A-MAZE-ING! I cut the vinyl in mirror image format so I could put it on the back of the glass, this makes for easier dusting and protects the vinyl a bit more as well. I did make registration marks to make placing the vinyl easier and then just pulled them up after I got the vinyl in place.

My niece was very pleased with the frame and even posted it on Facebook to show it off. I'll post the other gift I made her tomorrow.

Butterfly Frame - Party Prize

WHEW! This is the last of the posts about the party prizes! Now you guys can see why I wasn't posting anything crafty for so long...I was too busy making all the party prizes and I couldn't share on here because I didn't want them to be able to see everything.

Supplies Used:
Make The Cut Software
Graphic 45 Botanicals
Prima Bling
Border Punch
Circle Punch
Tattered Angels Glimmer Glaze
Colorbox Chalk Ink
Epoxy Clear Domes
Mounting Foam
Signo White Gel Pen

I found these little bees on the punch out pack and really liked them and incorporated them into the frame by punching out some 1" circles to put them on and then adding an Clear Epoxy Dome on top of them. It just added a little extra interest to the frame. I did use mounting foam to attach them to the frame.

I wanted the "live, love, GROW" to really pop off the frame so I did use a lot of mounting foam. I cut two pieces for the orange behind the green stripe and after adhering the green stripe to the first layer of orange I put mounting foam between the two orange layers. I did the same on the maroon print  layer and then also on the bottom layer that attached the whole piece to the frame.  A few years back I saw where Enfys, of Going Bugging, had used this method and I loved it so I use it as often as I can when I can go wild with dimension.

I absolutely loved the butterflies on this paper and wanted them to be the focal point of the frame, well besides the picture that will go in it of course! I found an image on the internet of a Monarch I liked and did a little tweaking so I could cut it with my Cricut and MTC.

I actually showed a picture of one of the butterflies back at the end of November in my GLIMMER GLAZE - BUTTERFLY MTC FILE and there is more information there if you would like to read  it. The flourishes out of the tail are some pieces of a big sheet of Prima bling. I got several sheets a few years ago in a really good sale bin and have been slowly using them by cutting them apart. I also used a flourish on the bottom right hand side of the picture hole.

Peacock Feather Frame - Party Prize

While I very rarely remember who wins what at my parties I do remember who won this one...MY SISTER! The reason it is so easy to remember is because when she opened it and pulled it out of the box I went "OOOHHHH!!" like it was the most gorgeous thing I had ever seen. Which was totally stupid of me because I made the dang thing! *okie smiles remembering how she and everyone else in the room cracked up laughing at her reaction*. I will attribute my reaction to it being over 2 hours since the party had started and my having about 5 glasses of Hurricane Punch by that point.

Supplies Used:
Webster's Pages Paper
Webster's Pages Embellishments
Colorbox Chalk Ink
Prima Bling

I used a fairly neutral sheet of paper for the base of the frame and then added a 12x12 vellum overlay on top. Since there was a lot of printing on the vellum I wasn't too worried about the tape showing around the edges.

Once again I used one of the little cards that were included int he box as a way to add some sort of words to the frame. I really can't tell you how much I love the Webster's Pages boxes! All of the embellishments were from the box, as was the paper. I thought it looked a little busy but since all the elements went so well together I doubt the picture will have a hard time being the focal point.

Tomorrow will be my last post of the Christmas Party prizes. There will be downloadable file in tomorrow's post and hopefully I am going to start having more files to share in the Make The Cut and SVG formats.

Dream BIG - Party Prize

This frame was pretty easy to do since all the papers and embellishments were from a Webster's Pages warehouse sale box and the elements all just flowed nicely together. I did have to change out some of the embellishments a few times until I got something that looked decent to me.

Supplies Used:
Webster's Pages Paper
Webster's Pages Embellishments
Colorbox Chalk Ink
Stampin Up Border Punch
Liquid Pearls

I wasn't sure about the black leaves at first but once I got them down and the flowers on top I decided it actually gave the flowers a nice background and made them not get lost in the paleness of the paper. The "Dream Big Big Big" was from a little container of cards that was in the warehouse box as well. I did try to match up my papers and embellishments by collection as much as possible.

If you guys have never done a Webster's Pages Warehouse Box Sale then you really should! I think they have them once or twice a year and my friend Carmen let's me know when it is and then orders for us. She usually orders two boxes each and it is well worth the money! This year's boxes were the exact same but we both decided that was fine since we won't be as likely to hoard it all...well at least that is our thinking but knowing us we will hoard somethings - we always do!

Beach Frame - Party Prize

My friend Carmen came across this fantastic Graphic 45 paper at Tuesday Morning a few months back and picked some up for use to split. I was of course thinking about my cruise layouts but decided to use some for a frame since there was quite a bit of it.

Supplies Used:
12x12 Memory Frame
Graphic 45 On The Boardwalk
Ranger Memory Slide
Shells from Puerto Rico
Starfish Charm
Jute
Colorbox Chalk Ink

All the images are from the Graphic 45 paper. I did cut around the men from a different sheet of paper but I thought they were just too dang cute not to use. I love the vintage look of this and I might need to make one for myself!

I had a heck of a time getting sand in that little blister for the Memory Slide and I think it all ended up falling out anyway. I am really going to have to practice using stuff like that. The other items stuck in there well and went so together so nicely with the theme. I still had some shells from one of my cruise's and then added a starfish charm that my friend Carmen had given me in an assortment she had sent.

I was afraid the frame looked a little plain compared to my other ones I had made for prizes but there were a few guests who really commented on liking this one. One of them was BFF Karen, who of course lives for the beach so it only made sense she would love this one!

Christmas Frame - Party Prize

I rarely make holiday themed frames because I feel they are something that can only be enjoyed for a short amount of time instead of staying out all year long. In the Webster's Pages box I got last year there was some gorgeous Christmas paper and it made me go out on a limb and make a themed frame for a party prize.

Supplies Used:
12x12 Memory Frame
Webster's Pages Paper
Colorbox Chalk Ink
Petaloo Flowers
Pearl Brads
Brads
Various Embellishments

The white flowers are actually some of the "COLOR ME" flowers that you can ink, dye, spray, etc. I used Glimmer Mist on these to give them a little sparkle. The Pearl Brads are some I got at Eyelet Outlet and I just love them! I am not sure where they reindeer came from, I just found them in my stash of Christmas embellishments. I used the brads from the flowers to attach the reindeer to the frame and tried to position them so it looked like they were leaping into the picture. I couldn't really figure out another way to attach the reindeer and this method seemed to work out great.

Here you can see more detail of the flowers and also some of the little "skittles" I added for some extra detail. Those little plastic accents can really add to a project while not being overly intrusive.

I used mounting from under the metal "Christmas" sign to bring it up off the frame. I wish I could remember who makes the little metal sign and I am sure one of my readers will know. I thought it worked perfectly for the frame.

Altered Frame - Naomi's Christmas Gift

I had someone snap a picture of Naomi and I at her Christmas Party, which you might have seen on a post the other day, because I wanted to make a frame for her with our picture in it. I took the frame to her on Christmas Eve. She looked at me with a frown and said "but I didn't get you anything!" I told her "I have all I want from you, your love and friendship". She said "well that is all I need too!" and I told her "oh shut up and open the dang gift!". She really liked it once she got it open *okie makes a mental note to not use so much tape next time* and talked about what a great picture it was of the both of us and how the frame matched her room. I know she was really pleased with it.

Supplies Used:
Memory Frame
Mirabelle Pattern Paper Stack
Prima Flowers
Candi embellishments
Basic Grey Brads
Glitter brads
Colorbox Cat Eye Chalk Ink

I went through my stash of Prima flowers and just found ones that complimented with the paper I used. I added various brads for the flower centers and then I pop dotted each of the flowers, layering the mounting foam on them to get them to pop out more.

Here is a close up look of the Candi embellishments. I got these in the summer when I attend CKC in Houston. I had seen them before and thought they looked interesting but this is the first time I used them. I used the glue gun to attach them since I wanted to make sure they wouldn't fall off.

I am not sure how I would attach these on a card or layout since they are domed and my trusty Scotch glue probably won't work. I guess I will figure it out when I try to use them.

Shadow Box Layout

I thought I better get to posting the Shadow Box Layout that Linda, aka LGuild, and I worked on over the weekend since I had talked about it several times. The flowers are from Flower Shoppe and the frame around the picture is from Art Philosophy.

Supplies Used:
Shadow Box - Michaels
Cricut Flower Shoppe cart
Cricut Art Philosophy cart
Various Pattern paper
Various cardstock
Kaiser Pearls
Color Box Cat Eye Chalk Ink
Pearl Brads
Chipboard Shapes
Small Tatted Doilies
Velour Scallop Ribbon
Braiding Trim
Perfect Layers trim set

The shadow box Linda found was suppose to be for a t-shirt display box, however it worked perfectly for the layout she was wanting to do. She sent me a picture of a layout she found that she liked and thought would work with the picture. She brought the sentiment she wanted to be included.

In order to get the layout centered we measured in and then marked with a pen the 12x12 centered area and then just used the ATG gun to apply the tape and then place the layout accordingly.

I totally cheated and used the Design Studio file I had from the MEMORIES frame that I had done for the flowers. They seemed to work well for the layout and the number of flowers worked as well. This way we didn't have to figure out sizes and such.

I did add pearl brads for the flower centers, trying to use different pearls for each flower type.

Linda thought of the idea for the pearls on the flourishes. She did help some by pushing the load and unload button on the Cricut. She also glued the cardstock to the chipboard shapes.

We had a great time working on the layout even though it seemed to take all day. That might have been because we took multiple breaks and of course we had to go to lunch and the scrapbook store! Linda was kind enough to buy my lunch, saying it was my pay and that I was earning about $2 a hour! HA HA HA

Altered Frame - Memories

I saved this frame to post last because it was my favorite and I think by far the best of the frames I did. I sure didn't want to post it first and then have you guys look at the others and think "damn okie that one looks like chit compared to the first one" *okie smiles slyly at the methods to her madness*.

I actually saved this frame to use as my Dirty Santa gift. I was concerned people wouldn't care for the frames but after sending pictures to a friend who said she loved them I thought the frames would make good prizes. I made this frame last and even I was impressed with how it turned out! Of course it wasn't my talent that made the frame but the awesome elements that worked together and the benefit of using the Flower Shoppe cartridge! I spent quite a bit of time on this frame, mostly because of the cutting of flowers and assembling.

Supplies Used:
Ready to Finish 12x12 Memory Frame
Pink Paislee Butterfly Garden Collection
Various Cardstock
Cricut Flower Shoppe cartridge
Cricut Home Decor cartridge
Imaginesce Heat Set Pearls
Small Doilies
Glimmer Mist
Cat Eye Chalk Ink
Glittered Brads

I am really enjoying making the flowers and they are a lot more simple than I thought they would be. I can't wait to do some more of these for some projects. I of course used Design Studio to layout the basic flower so I could figure out the sizes I needed. I did two different leave cuts for the frame and folded them in half before scrunching the ends toward the middle.

I used a background swirl stamp and did heat embossing before assembling but after adding the glimmer mist you can't really see the embossing much in the picture. It did show up a little better in person. Next time I will forgo the Glimmer Mist if I want to add heat embossing to the flowers.

Inking the edges of the flowers seemed to give them a more realistic look and besides, ya'll know I have an inking fetish *okie is seriously thinking of seeking treatment*. You can see the brads a little better in this picture. I just used regular brads I got on clearance at the Dollar Store and put a glue dot on top and then dipped in some glitter. It's an inexpensive way to make glitter brads and you can make the color you want.

On the title I inked the lower half of memories because it just looked a bit stark at first. I like how the inking only half made it seem to blend better in with the theme and elements. I cut the title shadow out of some chipboard to help give it a little more dimension.

I think one reason I am enjoying making these frames so much is because you can add so much dimension to it without worrying about the elements getting smashed like they might if it were a scrapbook page going in a scrapbook.  One thing I have done since making the frames is invest in a fine tip glue gun. The one I had has a larger tip and was a little to difficult to work with on some of the smaller items such as the flower centers.

Like I posted last week, Consumer Crafts is having their shipping special for the rest of the month and while they are still having the special I am going to order quite a few of the 12x12 frames and probably a few of the smaller ones. I am actually thinking of making some...okay ya'll don't faint...and selling them!! *okie watches a few of her readers faint* Uh will someone grab the smelling salts?

Altered Frame - You & Me

I love the colors in this frame and it seems very cheerful. This design would be great for a couple, a parent and child, friends, etc. I liked that it had endless possibilities for the photo to be used.

Supplies Used:
Ready to Finish 12x12 Memory Frame
Fancy Pants All Fall
Various cardstock

That little bird has two light blue layers and two medium blue layers. I used mounting foam between the layers to give him dimension, it is hard to tell in the photo though. I actually had the flower left over from another project but since it was the same paper and seemed to go well I thought "what the heck girl...USE IT!" and so I did. I used a Decorative Accent, also known as a "skittle" on the Cricut MB for the eye. I colored the bottom with a black ProMarker before attaching to the bird.

The title shadow was cut twice out of brown for added dimension. I pop dotted the shadow layers. I also pop dotted the ampersand, but before doing that I ran it through the Distressed Stripe Cuttlebug folder and sanded lightly.

Glimmer mist was added on the flourishes for a little subtle bling look.

Make sure to come back tomorrow for my favorite frame I altered. I actually used it as my Dirty Santa gift and it was a HUGE SUCCESS!
