An Altered Frame For My Sister - Webster's Pages

I was transferring pictures from my phone to my computer and came across this picture of my sister and myself that was taken at her son's wedding back in September. I think it might be one of the only pictures we have together by ourselves and I decided to print it off and make a frame to give to her tomorrow while we are at our Aunt Betty's for Easter. Since she doesn't have the internet this will still be a surprise for her! I thought it would be nice if we both had one of these frames so I made one for myself as well...something I rarely do! I made a matching gift bag and card with the scraps left from the frames.

Supplies Used:

8x10 wood frame
Webster's Pages, not sure of what collection
Paper Studio Poppies & Paperie flowers
Generic paper flowers
EK Success Small Daisy Punch
Chipboard
Mounting Foam
Glue Gun

Hobby Lobby was having an awesome 75% off clearance sale about two months ago and I picked up a couple of packages of the Paper Studio Poppies and Paperie flowers. Of course I have a few flowers in my stash but for the 75 cents that was marked on the package I figured I could make room for a few more and I'm so glad I did because they worked great on the frames. I did use hot glue to attach the flowers as I have found that any other type of glue or tape just doesn't cut it in the long run. I punched out some vellum flowers using the EK Success small daisy punch and added dots of Nuvo Crystal Drops for the centers. I can't find a link for the small daisy punch but it is one of my go to punches for when I need a "filler" on a project, I actually have 3 sizes of the daisy punch and love each one of them!

All the paper is from the Webster's collection and I can't rememember the name and forgot to look before I used the bottom strip as a border on the frames. I know it was from 2012 and was from one of their warehouse sales where you ordered a box for like $40 and got a TON of awesome stuff in the box.

I didn't have to do a whole lot of fussy cutting on this project but I did do some as there were some good images to use that made the project just come to life *okie wonders if anyone notices she is just typing kinda random shit about the project to make it sound interesting, and then okie wonders if anyone really reads the shit she types anyway*.

I fussy cut the large border at the bottom of the picture area and used chipboard on the back and then some mounting foam because ya know I'm all about dimension when it comes to such projects! I printed the saying "I'm as lucky as I can be because the world's best sister belongs to me" on the vellum and I used my laser printer as it does an excellent job on the vellum. I don't think this is a true vellum, but more of a "kinda like vellum and better for what okie wants to use it for" kinda paper.

After getting the frames completed I made the matching gift bag and card with the scraps left over from the papers I used for the frames. I think my sister will be surprised and pleased!

Webster's Pages Clean and Simple - Altered Box

I got another one of the boxes covered and this one was a bit harder but I think only because I didn't have all the little extras to choose from with the Webster's Pages paper like I did with the Graphic 45. I might have overdone it with the flowers but I really like how they turned out and wanted to use as many as I could. I did end up with some extra white daisies that I can use some other time.

Supplies Used:
-Webster's Pages Clean and Simple
-Daisies Cutting File (available below)
-EK Success Medallion Border Punch
-Stampin Up "Define Your Life" Journey
-Colorbox Chalk Ink

Here is a straight on view of the top of the box. The white flowers are the daisies that there is a cutting file for at the bottom of the post. The pink flowers were made using the Cuttlebug Daisy Quilling Kit. The center papers were cut using then Sizzix dies. I stamped the "journey" definintion and then adhered the yellow paper on some orange and used the Stampin Up Decorative Label punch to punch it out.

On the close up side view you can see the ribbon on the side of the box a little better. I found some Sobe glue at Zipp Outlet and I have to say I love this stuff! It was great to put the ribbon on the box and also for the little dangling "Spirit" embellishment that I used as a open/close apparatus.

You might be able to tell from the photo but in case you can't...I used mounting foam and a lot of it! That is one thing I love about altering items is that I can add a lot more dimension than I can on cards or scrapbook pages.

I think you can see the "shimmer" on these flowers better than you can on the last box I did. I used Glimmer mist on the white daisies and Smooch Spritz on the pink daisies. For the centers of the white daisies I ran some yellow circles I had cut, that are included in the cutting file, upside down through my Xyron and then covered with flock.

The quilling kit has a plate that cuts some straight strips that I used in the center of the pink daisies but then it looked a little plain to me so I popped in some pearls to jazz it up a bit.

When the last box posted on Facebook someone asked if I had covered the inside as well and asked for me to post pictures if I did indeed cover the inside. I don't know why I didn't think about posting pictures of the inside then and I thought I should go ahead and post a picture of the inside of the box so you can see how the inside is covered as well.

Chipboard Album - Family

This is the last mini-album I did, at least for awhile.

I like this one because of the pretty flowers on the front. I made the flowers with punches. The leaves were left over, like the album before. The album gets worse from here.

These pages are kinda plain but will look better with some pictures where the white space is, or at least I hope so.

Click the picture to make it bigger and see more detail. I'm too tired to describe it all and you can see with your own eyes.

Fabric ticket, paper leaves, dew drops, ribbon and bling are used on these two pages.

I have some cards I could post for the next few days but that probably ain't gonna happen. I am swamped at work with intakes and treatment plans and they are sucking the life blood out of me right now. Not even sure if there will be a post for tomorrow, completely depends on how tired I am when I get home from work this evening.

Chipboard Album - Cherish

I keep forgetting to go in and add my content until it is late at night and then I am tired and I don't feel like typing so this is short and sweet like yesterdays and tomorrow's probably won't be much better. Ya might be better off just lookin at the pictures and ignoring any words in this post.

This is another album. Used paper and embellies from a Webster's Pages Warehouse Box that either I got or that my friend Carmen sent to me. She sends me a bunch of shit and expects me to create fabulous stuff.

Little blue roses are something I had left over from another project, as are the leaves. Thought I better use that crap up so I did.

Used a fabric ticket embellishment. Punched some butterflies and glued their ass to the page.

Punched out another butterfly. Decided to punch out a bird and a branch for the other page. Hate the bird, he doesn't show up well.

Fake flowers and a little tag with a ribbon adorn these pages.

That's all I got to say about this album.

Chipboard Album - Forever Memories

This is a mini album.

I used a 6x6 mini chipboard album that my friend Carmen sent me. She sent me quite a few. I covered it with some paper and shit to decorate it.

This is a picture of pages of the mini-album. I used some damn ribbon on these pages.

There are some fake ass flowers on one of the pages here, both pages have some decorative paper put on them.

Here is the last picture of the mini album. I got all creative and shit and used some cord for the kite string.

That is the end of this mini-album.

Peacock Feather Frame - Party Prize

While I very rarely remember who wins what at my parties I do remember who won this one...MY SISTER! The reason it is so easy to remember is because when she opened it and pulled it out of the box I went "OOOHHHH!!" like it was the most gorgeous thing I had ever seen. Which was totally stupid of me because I made the dang thing! *okie smiles remembering how she and everyone else in the room cracked up laughing at her reaction*. I will attribute my reaction to it being over 2 hours since the party had started and my having about 5 glasses of Hurricane Punch by that point.

Supplies Used:
Webster's Pages Paper
Webster's Pages Embellishments
Colorbox Chalk Ink
Prima Bling

I used a fairly neutral sheet of paper for the base of the frame and then added a 12x12 vellum overlay on top. Since there was a lot of printing on the vellum I wasn't too worried about the tape showing around the edges.

Once again I used one of the little cards that were included int he box as a way to add some sort of words to the frame. I really can't tell you how much I love the Webster's Pages boxes! All of the embellishments were from the box, as was the paper. I thought it looked a little busy but since all the elements went so well together I doubt the picture will have a hard time being the focal point.

Tomorrow will be my last post of the Christmas Party prizes. There will be downloadable file in tomorrow's post and hopefully I am going to start having more files to share in the Make The Cut and SVG formats.

Dream BIG - Party Prize

This frame was pretty easy to do since all the papers and embellishments were from a Webster's Pages warehouse sale box and the elements all just flowed nicely together. I did have to change out some of the embellishments a few times until I got something that looked decent to me.

Supplies Used:
Webster's Pages Paper
Webster's Pages Embellishments
Colorbox Chalk Ink
Stampin Up Border Punch
Liquid Pearls

I wasn't sure about the black leaves at first but once I got them down and the flowers on top I decided it actually gave the flowers a nice background and made them not get lost in the paleness of the paper. The "Dream Big Big Big" was from a little container of cards that was in the warehouse box as well. I did try to match up my papers and embellishments by collection as much as possible.

If you guys have never done a Webster's Pages Warehouse Box Sale then you really should! I think they have them once or twice a year and my friend Carmen let's me know when it is and then orders for us. She usually orders two boxes each and it is well worth the money! This year's boxes were the exact same but we both decided that was fine since we won't be as likely to hoard it all...well at least that is our thinking but knowing us we will hoard somethings - we always do!
