Summer Time = Crafting Less

I guess I am crafting a little less these days, which I have found is a bit common for me in the summer time. I had company all weekend and my daughter was here for a few days spending some time so I haven't been able to craft. Yesterday afternoon I mowed my yard and Naomi's yard. After taking a shower I decided to go visit with her for a few hours and still didn't get any crafting done.

If you have a minute please keep Naomi in your prayers. She found out recently she has cancer and will be starting chemo next week. In case you don't know who she is, she use to be my next door neighbor. I say that but to be honest she is so much more...over the years she has become my friend, my confidante, a companion, a source of support, and many other things. I still so miss her being next door *okie thinks she will leave out the part about crying for a solid week when Naomi moved* but she is doing well in the assisted living home where she resides now. I still try to go see her a few times a week if I can and usually no less than once a week.

This is a picture of me and Naomi that was taken not long after she moved. She and I use to laugh when people would assume or ask if I was her daughter. When I looked at this photo I thought "OMG! I COULD PASS AS HER DAUGHTER!"

I got my Pop Up Neighborhood cartridge from the Cricut Circle and it seems to have some cute images on it. Not sure how many pop up cards I will make though. My friend Carmen, aka ScrapperDelighted, picked up Kate's ABC's for me at Joanns and I have looked through the images on Design Studio and it is just TOO CUTE! I hope to try out both very soon!

I am still trying to get use to using a laptop but I have to admit I am loving the portiblity of it! I called Cricut customer service yesterday and got my Design Studio registered on the laptop so now I can design anywhere! Yeah, yeah, yeah I know I could have with the Gypsy but ya'll know me better than that!

  2. Prayers for Ms. Naomi and for you. I lost my mom to cancer last fall, and trust me, friends, family members and advocates to cancer patients need lots of prayers, too. Craft when you need some down time, but also remember, some of it can wait.

Naomi and You are in my prayers. What a wonderful blessing you are to her and she is to you. I know she must love and adore you. All of us out here in craft land sure understand you spending more time with her and not crafting so much. Life is too precious. Craft when you feel like it. We will all be here with you!

  5. Prayers for your friend Naomi. Just want you to know that I agree with you about DS. I design on it, save as a gypsy file and cut with the gypsy. You can design ahead of time and save the files to the gypsy and just take that to crops etc. But I always use DS to design!

  7. Everyone should have a friend like you - Naomi is very lucky (as you are to have her). Both of you will be in my prayers - chemo can be really tough, but she sounds super strong and can fight this thing! Stay strong!
