Every year I get stressed about my annual Christmas party and how to make it better than the last, the only problem is when I do that then I tend to shut down and get nothing done! I think it is time for me to stop having the parties! Just kidding! I know I can't do that but I think I need to accept that my friends love me no matter what and even if the prizes might be crappy it's all about us getting together once a year for a night of absolute crazy fun. I have tons of ideas running around in my head and I need to get on the stick and get busy but I guess not this weekend!
Whatever I decide I am quite sure it will be appreciated but right now I am just sitting here stumped! Okay I say that but ya know the real problem? I get something in my head that I can and want to do and then I think of 10 other things that might be better and then I end up with my original idea in the first place. With that said...it's time to get ready and run some errands and hit the grocery store and find some pork butt roast to make pulled pork!
PULLED PORK back in January and all that tried it loved it. This will be something I can make a lot of tonight, put it in the fridge and then have it ready tomorrow for after the game. I can get my beans and potato salad made tonight as well and then tomorrow I can have a stress free day...yeah right! HA HA
I'm sure even your PB&J is extraordinary!ReplyDelete
Your meal sounds delicious to me. The older I get, the less I like to cook - especially for a crowd. Wish one of my daughters would take over the hosting duties - but they all want to come to "Mom's house" for a good, old-fashioned, home-cooked meal. Bah humbug!ReplyDelete
It sounds like your meal plan will be delicious ! I totally agree about cooking for a group and how it can be stressful but since you are keeping it fairly simple you will turn out having a great time I'm sure ! At least I hope so !!ReplyDelete
Another standby I love is Stouffer's Lasagna, salad and plenty of garlic bread. As long as you remember to thaw the lasagna ahead of time, it's an easy meal for a crowd that does not cost much.ReplyDelete
Sounds like a great meal to me! I hate to cook too! I always tell people that cooking is a waste of 2hrs.....prepping, cooking and cleaning up....yuck!! I also think cooking is so boring.ReplyDelete
When I read the beginning of your post, I was thinking "make pulled pork sandwiches", and then, that's what you decided! Good luck, and enjoy your company while they are there. They come to be together with you, not for gourmet dining.ReplyDelete
Just wanted you to know I love following your blog and have done so for quite sometime....thanks for the many posts over the years and look forward to many more. I totally can relate to many of your life experiences? You give to each of us in many ways. Keep up the hard work and know it's appreciated. DebReplyDelete
I vote the McDonald's route! Who doesn't love a burger? ;) Take care of yourself--if you don't, who will?ReplyDelete
