Sorry I haven't posted...

I got the crud! My daughter was sick last week and I guess I got it from her. But to be honest I could have gotten it from a whole slew of folks. If you guys aren't on facebook then you might not know that this stuff is hitting EVERYWHERE! I was able to make a Christmas dinner for me and my daughter although it took a long time and much rest between each visit to the kitchen. But the last two days I have spent in the recliner in my pajamas. I hear my craft room calling me but I just can't seem to make it in there.

I think part of my issue with getting sick is that there has been some stressful things in my life in the last two weeks and it helped deplete my immune system. I was trying to fight it but when I figured out my refrigerator went out...well that was it for me! I hit the recliner and have done nothing since...no more fight in me. Just got tired of everything piling up and I gave up so here I sit cough and wheezing and wondering where and when I can get a fridge!

Hopefully this crud will go away soon and I can get out of this state of being that I am in right now.

  2. Oh Okie,

I will be praying for a speedy recovery from the crud, and for a fridge.

You have had a very rough holiday season. Just know that there are people you have never met that love you and are praying for you.

I know, I know...It would be nice if someone you have never met would drive their butt to Home Depot, purchase a fridge for you, deliver it, hook it up AND load all of your stuff back in it!

I will work on that for ya :o)

    HUGS

  3. I feel your pain. My Mother in laws boss called my husband and said it was urgent he get up to Ohio (we live in Florida) because she is sick, so he missed Christmas and then, yesterday I had to have a cracked tooth repaired. Ouch. Total cost for both= $1500. Yikes. No more crafty stuff for me :(

  6. Oh Okie, That is three now. You should be good to go. The cats, the frig and now you. I am not a big fan of Christmas because it seems like there is always so much stress and sickness. I am going shopping with a friend today and it has been months since we have done this. I will be thinking about you and your friend and how much fun you have. I will be sending you cheer up energy from my heart to yours.
Take the time for just YOU and know that I am many others care a great deal.
    Sending Love,
    Linda

  7. Feel better soon! Sounds like the same crud I have had this holiday. I had three days off from work and didn't get in my craft room once. What a waste! LOL

    Take care!

  8. I'm so sorry to hear about your week, hope you are feeling better soon. Okie you have always been there for me, you give me files to use free, you brighten my day with all your funny stories, and you know you are just a very sweet person; I want to help you too by donating some money for your new fridge! It won't be much because I'm on employment but hopefully if everyone donates just a little it will help you out. It will be under vcountrygirl1 on pay pal.
    Good luck Okie!

  10. Oh Okie - hang in there! When you are down sick it is hard to see the light at tne end of the tunnel but honest it is there! I truly hope your fridge problem gets resolved soon - I've been there. Fortunately we lived in Minnesota and it was winter so there was no problem keeping stuff cold and frozen :-) Hope things get better real soon.

  13. So sorry, Okie! I had a feeling you were feeling pretty bad. I had it for a week just prior to Christmas and therefore didn't bother with Christmas this year. (I can do that not having small children!) Here's hoping 2011 treats you much nicer than these last couple of weeks have been!

  15. So sorry to hear you're sick, Okie, but I can definitely relate. I've been in my PJs for the last 2 days, too, and slept most of the afternoon/evening yesterday, and haven't been able to keep up on following my blogs. Am feeling a little better today, but still a ways from 100%. I sure hope you can kick the cruds and get well soon. Take care of yourself! :)

  17. Hurry and get well OKIE. We miss you on facebook. Dumb question, but have you been to the doctor? My friend had it and got an RX. 5 pills cost $200 but in one day it knocked the stuffin out of it and she had a good Christmas that would have otherwise been baddddddddddd. Get well soon.

  21. Everyone in my boyrfiend's family got sick this week. We had to delay Christmas because everyone was throwing up and had *ahem* the shits lol. Stomach flu really bad. Then when I got back to work this week it seems as though a bunch of people in my office also have the stomach flu. I was throwing up on Christmas but I think it was more of a eating way too much thing than being actually sick. Hopefully I don't get the real deal although it seems inevitable!

  22. Okie -- sorry you are sick. It really sucks that the germs attack on this time of year when we all have so much to do! Take your vitamin C! We'll be here when you get back walkin around.

    Take care of yourself!

  23. Don't make me drive down there with a hot toddy! LOL!

I felt good enough today to go to Shawnee Mall and walk. Being sick, cooped up at home feeling like you've been hammered is the pits!

I now have had it for over 2 weeks and am determined it's GOING AWAY!

Feel better soon so we can have our play day!

  24. Am sorry to hear that the creeping crud found you...And you aren't alone with the fridge thing. Ours went out on Friday, but we are fortunate that we have an old one (25yrs old) in the garage. gave the landlord a break and didn't call him until Monday. The repairman was here today and now needs to get back to the Landlord to see if he wants to pay for a $$$ repair or just to get a new one.
Please, take care of yourself, get your strength back, after all, you need to be completely rested for that cruise!!!

  25. Wow, you poor dear. You sure have had a rough few weeks. So sorry for your loss of your dear cats. I do hope you feel better soon. Even though we have never met and I don't even comment that often, I do so love reading your blog. You have such a wonderful way of writing as if you were sitting in a recliner just chatting with all of us. I am sending warm fuzzy hugs your way and hope you feel better so soon. Hugs, Dallas

  27. Okie - I think I caught this stuff from you and your daughter (or maybe it was from my husband!! LOL!) But, in any event, I've got it and it's rough - I need to keep a close eye on it 'cause I just got over a bad bought of pneumonia including a week in the hospital!! So, I'm taking it easy and sitting on my butt catching up on the 'puter (as my DGS calls it)

Good luck with the refrigerator issue - been there, done that - everything goes at once! Our phone has been out of service since Sunday evening and I just pray it's not the "inside" wiring 'cause I cancelled coverage on that after about 28 years with no problems - of course!!

Get well and don't worry about anything - it will all work out!

  28. Sending wishes for a better 2011. Naomi moving, the loss of the cats, the fridge, sickness...it all just sucks. I hate when the world spins out of control on me. Hope your axis rights itself -- and soon! Best...

  29. Dear Okie, Just caught up with you and was so sorry to hear about your feeling so rotten! It shouldn't happen to such a trooper as you. I love your style of "talking" I just wish we lived close so we could be friends.

I feel sorry about your beloved cats. It hurts so bad--they are family. I know all too well. Hope you can get over this bug and feel chipper soon. I am sure the fridge thing will work itself out. God does care about domestic things, too. Sending a big hug. Kathie
