Giveaway To See Betsy Bluebell Off!

I finally got the last of the Betsy Bluebell cards done! Well at least for now. I am sure I will use the stamps again. She was really easy and fast to color. I just seem to have a hard time getting back into the swing of crafting these days!

My friend Linda calls Betsy "that little straight haired girl". Not sure what Linda has against straight hair, but I think it is easy to color! HA HA HA

Supplies used:
Cricut Expression
Cricut cartrigdes - Stretch Your Imagination, balloons
EK Success Punch - Photo Corner
Printed Paper - American Crafts
Cardstock - various
Cat Eye - Chalk Ink
Stampin Up - sentiment stamp; Olive Green ink; Real Red marker (doodle dots)
Making Memories - ribbon tag
ProMarkers - various colors, see below
Spareparts - brads
Memento - Black Ink pad for stamping image
Ribbons and Bows Oh My - 3/8" grosgrain ribbon

I wanted to showcase a bit of the blending sets and I tried to use colors mainly from the "VIVID" set that ProMarker is offering in the Blending Sets.

COLORS USED:
Balloons - Crimson, Burgandy; Sunflower, Gold; Pear, Olive Green
Dress - China blue, Midnight Blue
Hair - Burnt Sienna, Burnt Umber
Face - Satin, Vanilla
Cheeks - Saffron
Hearts - Crimson, Poppy
Socks - China Blue, Artic Blue
Collar - Cool Gray 2
Shadow - Cool Gray 1

I once again made part of the image come off the card. I decided to have the balloons I made with the Cricut come off the top of the card. I coordinated the colors of the cardstock with the colors of the balloons on the image *once again okie rolls her eyes at herself for pointing out the obvious*.

Since the balloons were shadowed and layered it did give them enough "body" to be thick enough not to bend easily. I used my Scotch Quick Dry glue to put them together. I ordered 5 bottles not long ago from Joann's since Walmart stopped carrying it.

The sentiment is from Stampin Up's Curvy Verses set. I got this set a few years back and find that I still use it quite often. Of course most of my Stampin Up stamps are sentiment ones, can't ever have too many of those! I stamped it in Olive Green to match the card.

I had a few strips of the flag patterned paper left and just cut them in 1" strips to add to the inside. I think I will be doing more to the inside of my cards because I think it adds a little something extra and it's a good way to use up small scraps.

Okay now to celebrate the end of this series of using ProMarkers I will be giving away a set of 12 ProMarkers to one lucky winner!! All you need to do to enter is send me your banking account number, 2 credit cards, your paypal account balance and........*okie falls out chair laughin*. JUST KIDDIN! Just leave a comment on this blog about "why you think you would like the ProMarkers". The deadline to enter is Saturday April 2nd at midnight. And remember in order to keep porn and viagra commericals off my blog I have to approve comments so it might take a bit for your post to appear so please post only once.

  1. Beautiful cards! I love the colors and the accents on the inside. I spend so much time on the outside, I hardly ever think of adding more to the inside.
    Have a great day!

  2. This is such a cute card and you did a wonderful job with the shading. I love the straight hair because it is so natural for most of us.

  3. I haven't really gotten into stamping and using markers to color the stamps. I have maybe 3 or 4 stamps and no markers! So I know if I got some good quality markers, I would probably get more stamps and really drive my husband crazy!
Thanks for all you do Okie!

  4. Cute card. I love the coloring. That little piece of hardware you have on there is really cool. Wherever did you find that? I would like to experiment with promarkers to learn new ways to color my stamps and diecuts.

  5. Wow, am I really the first to comment. I would really like these markers. I've been wanting to get into coloring on my cards, but the expense of everything else won't let me afford another addiction. Winning some would be Fantabulous. Thanks Okie! Smooches... frankleecrafts[at]gmail[dot]com

  8. Cute, cute card! I would love to win the set of ProMarkers! My existing markers are very old Marvy markers from a LONG time ago when I was way into rubber stamping (my therapy!! LOL) with my 2 (now adult!) daughters. "Life happened" and my paper crafting took an extended sabbatical! Funny how stamp pads and markers shrivel up! :P I would love to win this set of markers! Thanks for the chance to win!

  9. I think I should get them because I was FIRST in line :) I would love to try them but I just had twin granddaughters and my DIL is expecting one in July so with 3 sweet little girls, I'm going broke and no money left for me to buy them on my own, so I'm counting on the kindness of others for now...

  10. Okie -
You are TOO funny!!! I have a few of the ProMarkers and I am trying them instead of the "other brand" - I think they are just as good and much more affordable - I just need more of them to try some of the blending you are doing! So, thanks for the chance to win a set. BTW, your card is really cute - you are using some great techniques lately!

  110. OMG Ladybug, you crack me up! I would love to have the Promarkers to color in some of the stamps I have. I use colored pencils and Bic markers at the moment and there OK but NOT the fancy ones. Wish me luck.

  111. I would love to win these markers to try them - I have been leaving comments everywhere anybody is giving promarkers away and always just not close enough to win.
I would be a good choice to win because I am in the market for some good markers and if I like these like you and Envy do, I would be one of their best customers -lol..

  112. I love the stamp! It looks like my daughter with the straight red hair!!! I really want to try out the ProMarkers! I've always been scared to invest in something like that because I'm afraid I won't be able to blend them and color very well.

    Thank you!!

  118. I would love to try out the ProMarkers because I curently use copics, but I can't afford a second mortgage on the house to get some new ones! I understand these are more reasonably priced, but just as good.
Thanks for a chance to win

  119. I would like Promarkers because it would be nice to have "real" markers of my very own - instead of the ones my daughter "borrows" all the time and has since destroyed.

  124. I have never used other markers other than Promarkers so I can't do a comparasion. (I learned about them from Enfys website.) I do love the fact that even someone who has no artistic talent, such as myself, can use these markers and do blending and highlighting. I would love to win these markers for a friend of mine who can't afford to buy them.

Thanks, Okie, for the opportunity to win them.

  126. love this series of cards Okie! They're so cute. I'd love to win the Pro Markers because I don't have any stamping markers yet. I hvaen't gotten into the world of markers and copics are kind of high......if I get any I'd think Pro Markers are more my style. Plus I'v heard they're great! Thanks for the give away chances!!

  128. I'd love to try out Promarkers. Honestly, I just can't afford to get addicted to Copics, so I have wisely refrained from buying even a single one. Promarkers seem just as good and so much more affordable. Plus, I love the concept of the new blending sets. That would be so easy for my hubby to pick out for me instead of giving him a list of color codes! Thanks for the chance to win Okie!

Oh, and your card rocks too! LOVE the brown with all the bright colors!!! Can't decide which touch I like best... the metal tag, the corner adornments or the doddled dots!
