Why I do NOT read

So I had planned on doing some more LO's this weekend to see if I can't get my DD's baby pictures all done. Well I was in DD's room Saturday, around noon talking to her and picked up Twilight. WHY DID I DO THAT?? She has been trying to get me to read the books but I keep resisting telling her "you know what happens when I read!" So since noon on Saturday I have read the first 3 in the series and I am about half way through the last one now. I can't wait to get home from work so I can finish it!!

I got absolutely nothing done besides reading this weekend!! The phone keep ringing and I never even got up to answer it. I figured they could call back. I did manage to fix myself something to eat during the weekend *okie remembers something about peanut butter and toast* and I did let Lucy out...but only because she would sit there and bark at me until I would get up and let her out. I have no idea what DD was up to this weekend....but I briefly remember her being in the house...I guess she ate this weekend *okie shrugs*

My poor LO that I started on Saturday morning is still laying on the scrap table with the papers and pictures scattered across the table, just waiting to be finished. Guess it won't get finished tonight either!!

  4. OH my gosh we should be reading twins! LOL
I read through the series in about 5 days total after running out of books I had brought on a vacation.
Such a wonderful romance and suspense and everyone needs their own Edward!

  5. They are totally addictive! My older DD loves anything vampire -- not something I am interested in, but I had heard so much about this series of books I had to see what all the fuss was about. I read all four of them in the span of a week. It normally wouldn't have taken me so long but I had to sleep and take care of the youngest DD who is four years old!

  7. LOL! My teenage daughter loved that series and was constanlty trying to get me to read them too! I ended up doing the same thing you did Okie, It was a Twilight marathon of reading and nothing else! I remember her saying something like, "Gosh mom the books are good, but maybe you should try pacing yourself because there are no more after these!" So TRUE!

  8. Oh come on! Reading is great. The good news is. .. . . THEY ARE A FAST READ! Quoting you " So since noon on Saturday I have read the first 3 in the series and I am about half way through the last one now"

I admit, they gobble up your time. THey are are dreamy brain candy. But I think it's worth the 4 days of time it took to read them :) Enjoy it while it lasts because after you're done you'll be wondering what's next. hehehe!

  9. I do the same thing! I'm really bad when I read James Patterson. His books go so quickly anyway and I like to finish what I start right away. I've always been this way. Glad to hear that I'm not alone...

  10. Okie - we are so much alike - I LOVE TO READ - I can consume Jan Karon's books, Debbie Macomber, and Dorethea Benton Frank (she writes a lot about the Charleston, SC are where my DGS lives) - I just read so darned fast I go thru books really quickly - the good thing is I can always read them again 'cause I've always missed something! Good for you - it's good for the soul to really get lost in books!!!

  11. Ha! That's how I was with the Harry Potter books... actually called in sick to stay home and read. Hubbie HATES it when I get obsessed with a new series of books, even more than when I'm scrapping or card making. I at least take breaks away from my table when I'm crafting. When I read I get in bed and stay there until I"m done!

  12. Been there
    Done that
    Will definately do it again.

I love to read and listen to a lot of books on tape. When I'm doing brainless crafting I can listen and craft at the same time. But when I have to think....that's just plain hard.
