18 Christmas gift bags.........DONE!

I finally finished the 18 Christmas giftbags! WOOHOO!! I still want to do some birthday ones but after that...I will be putting the sets together for prizes for my party *okie sure hopes her guests like the prizes this year*.

I used a DCWV Christmas stack that I had for all of these. I think it was from 2007, but I am not sure. I got it at a sale for like 10 bucks and it is the paper, not cardstock. I used acrylic paint to "ink" all the edges since I didn't want to waste all my cat eye ink on doing these. I also used the EK Sucess Oval punches for all the handles. I admit it...I got a little lazy.

Since there are a lot of bags to a picture I left the resolution higher so when you click on the picture you can see the detail on the bags well.

On this first set I used mostly stickers. Yes you heard me right.....STICKERS! *okie hears the gasps in the crowd* Oh get over it! Ya'll know you cheat and use stickers too! HA HA HA I got the stickers last year at a bargain store for 99 cents a package. It was the weekend of my Christmas Party so The Carmen's *okie also refers to them as Thang 1 and Thang 2* were able to get some also. I did use my Stampin Up Scallop punches on the two smaller bags for the sentiments. The Stampin Up tag punches were used for the tags on the larger bags.

On the second set I did use the Cricut! Yep I did. Well sorta. The sentiment scallop circles on the larger bags were used with one of my cut files. I made them last year and used them on some cards and found them in my Christmas embellie drawer and I thought they went great with the paper and figured it was a good use for them. The maller bags are kinda plain, but that is okay. Not everything has to be overdone.....does it? I used some snowflakes I had punches last year also. My friend Carmen V. had brought some snowflake punches when she was here for my party and I punched a bunch while she was here.

I cheated again on this set. On the smaller bags you will notice a Bella image. I used them last year for my part invitations and had some left. The scallops were cut with the Cricut. I actually really like those bags and think the stamped image really adds some pizazz *okie thinks pizazz looks a lot like the word pizza and suddenly realizes she is hungry*. I am sure the gals might recognize the image, but ya know the old saying...waste not want not! The larger bags are some poinsettas I made using the EK Success large daisy punch. I made those sometime in January I think it was when I was playing around with the punch when I first got it. I also found these in my Christmas embellie drawer.

Okay I think these might be my favorites. I wasn't diggin the smaller bags until I did the reindeer on them. I used the reindeer border from Doodlecharms set at like 2 1/4" I think. I used flock to do the noses on them. I did use the Dvine Swirl Cuttlebug folder on the bands of the small bags. On the larger bags *which are okie's favorite bags by far* I used the Martha Stewart branch punch. The sentiments are epoxy stickers. The band on the large bags is Mica cardstock *okie sooo loves Mica cardstock*.

And last but not least...are these two small bags. They are super simple but too cute! The paper on these really make them, at least I think so. Rhinestones were added to the middle of the snowflakes. I used some rubons for sentiments and the chipboard snowflake shapes are some I got last year at the store I mentioned earlier.

It's Shipped!!

No no no not the Gypsy. I haven't joined the caravan on that one yet. I am talking about my California Paper Goods order!! I partcipated in their auction and won some of the things I was bidding on. I totally am in love with the Stardream Mica cardstock they have and I got a few of the colors they have available! I am just too excited! Bad part is that it will take 4 days to get here. Today is Thursday so that means I won't get it until Tuesday. But at least it is on it's way!!! WOOHOO!! *okie does the "I am getting Stardream Mica Paper dance"*

What I won isn't full sheets but I don't need full sheets with this stuff. I use it for lettering and elements on layouts and cards so the 6x8.5" strips I got will work wonderfully! I did also get some full A2 cards and some A2 fronts, but again I will just use the pieces for elements.

I also got some envies. Matter of fact one item was 1,000 soft red dot A2 envies. Now what am I gonna do with 1,000 soft red dot A2 envies you may be wondering...well my friend Linda is part of the Cards for Soldiers group on the Cricut messageboard and when she found out that there were envies in the auction she told me "you bid and I will split". So half of those will be going to a good cause!

From lunch bag to gift bag!

Yeah I gotta give my friend Linda credit for these! She made some Christmas gift bags out of regular brown lunch bags and brought me one to show me how they are done. The cool thing is that we all have paper that we don't want to use for layouts or cards because either we have used it before, it just isn't quite right or...sometimes...it is just ugly. But that paper is great for gift bags I do believe!

For the gift bags in the picture I used K & Company Wild Saffron. The big tags are from the same collection.

For these first two I used the large tags. The handles are just simple circle punches on the large bag and a square punch and curly label punch on the smaller bag. I did use skittles on both bags. The large bag I used the double arch punch for the blue paper strip *okie so loves that border punch*. On the smaller bag I accented some of the swirls with a glitter pen, you might need to click the picture and make it bigger to see the glitter. Do you see the glitter now? Well how about now? *okie rolls her eyes* CLICK THE DAM PICTURE WILL YA! Oh okay good you can see it now...*okie cracks up laughin*.





I used some small prima's to accent the smaller bag. I also dotted the centers with cinnamon Stickles. Since it had the nice swirl it only needed minimal accents on it. The tag on the small bag is the Stampin Up tag punches. The large bag I cut flowers and leaves from a piece of scrap of the same paper and pop dotted them on top of the ones on the bag. Again you might need to click the picture to see. I also added some diamond stickles to the leaves on the paper.







The large bag handle is the Stampin Up scallop circle punch. The blue strip border is the Fiskars Threading Water punch *okie still wonders why the heck it is called threading water since it looks nothing like water and doesn't think water can even be threaded. Okie finally decides that the designer was partaking in some herbal medicine when the punch was named*. I used skittles on the flower centers. On the small bag the sunflower was made with the EK Success large daisy punch. I used two and layered them together. I cut one of green and placed it behind the yellow to make it look like leaves. The handle is with the Stampin Up curly label punch.


And last but not least are these two bags. The small one was actually the first one I made. The flowers are using the EK Sucsess large daisy punch and the centers are a 3/4" circle punch. I did add diamond Stickles to add a bit of sparkle. The handle is with EK Success oval punches. I should add I had no problems punch through all the layers on the bag when I got ready to make the handle. The tag is with the Stampin Up tag punches. The large bag HAS A LADYBUG ON THE TAG *okie grins like some idiot noddin her head up and down* oh yeahhhhh...gotta love da bug! The buttons on the red dots going down the left side of the bag are actually chipboard stickers from the same Wild Saffron paper line.

I really enjoyed making these and the go together pretty fast. Once I get the others done I will post them also. I am trying to make a variety so I can use sets of them as prizes at my Christmas party.

8 down...

and 10 to go! I got 8 of the Christmas bags decorated last night. I am doing simple things as ya know people are likely going to throw the bag away and I don't want to put too much effort into something that is going to be trashed. I am hoping to get some more done tonight!

I would have gotten more done last night but the football game was a good one and I kept gazing at the tv instead of concentrating on what was on my craft table *okie thinks Adrian Peterson is such a dish*. I even pulled out my Christmas embellies drawer and using stuff from out of that thing. Heck I found stuff in there I didn't know I had! *okie knows that every person reading this can do the same thing...or at least most every person*.

I think I will take pics of some of the bags tonight and post them. If I don't I won't ever get them all posted!!

Wanna see some gift bags?

Well you are gonna have to wait! HA HA HA HA HA *okie knows she is mean...and she loves it!* I have been busy working on altering some lunch bags into gift bags. I got the idea from my friend Linda. I decided I would make sets to use at prizes at my Annual Girlfriend Christmas Party. I have some generic ones done and am working on the Christmas ones. I want to do some birthday ones also. I will be trying to post pictures later this week so stay tuned!!

Guess what I got today!

I received my Winter Woodlands cart from Provocraft today! It came on the Fedex truck lookin for it's new home. But sadly....my house will not be it's new home! *okie tells everyone to say "AWWWW"*.

It's not that I don't want the cart. I love this cart! The font is awesome and the extras are just fantastic! But there is no room at my house for this poor Winter Woodland cartridge....

As luck would have it I already own this cartridge! Now what to do with this poor little cartridge that is lookin for a new home. When I was informed that I won I told Kerri, from Provocraft, that I already own the cart and to please allow someone else to win. She told me "nope, you won fair and square, it's yours". So you see I wasn't trying to be greedy. I actually wanted someone else to have a chance to get this awesome cartridge. And since it wasn't possible for Cricut to do a re-giveaway of the cart....well...I CAN!

That is right! I will be giving my Winter Woodlands cartridge away! As you might remember I was chosen to be a Guest Designer for Christmas With the Cricut and I will be doing my guest spot the second week of November. So stay tuned since that is when I will be doing the giveaway to help celebrate!!

Halloween Ghiradelli Boxes

I couldn't resist using my extra sheet of Pinecone Press paper to make some Ghiradelli Boxes! If you guys remember I made the .cut file for these back at the end of January as Valentine's Day boxes. The boxes will hold either 3 filled squares or 4 plain squares.


The GHIRADELLI SQUARES BOX - George and the GHIRADELLI SQUARES BOX - Plantin are still available for download. For instructions please see the My Valentine's Day Gift to my readers post. There are pictures along with the instructions.

I cheated a bit and used my Stampin Up Scallop Square punch for the boxes I made since my E is still cuttin scallop shapes a bit wonky *okie so dislikes wonky scallops*. The sentiments on the scallop squares are from the same sheet of Pinecone Press word block paper that I used on the cards I posted earlier. I used the Cuttlebug Distressed Stripes folder on the box with the bats sentiment. It might be hard to see in the picture but should show better if you click on the picture and make it bigger. I also used a corner rounder punch on the flap of the box.

The only problem with making these boxes is that I want to eat the dang squares before I give them to people! *okie cracks up laughin*

QUICK HALLOWEEN CARDS!

I was able to whip out these six cards in no time! I found the layout idea in a Cards Magazine that my friend Scraparazzi sent me and couldn't wait to try it. I was at the LSS yesterday and ran across some Pinecone Press Halloween paper. One of the sheets was all word blocks and I knew it would be perfect for quick cards *okie loves quick.....most of the time....but she won't talk about that right now*. The great thing is that there were enough word blocks for plenty of cards and I will be able to share with my friend Linda!

I used Stickles to jazz the cards up some more for the main images. I used Prima flowers on some of the cards. They are from a Halloween set I got last year. Then on some of the cards I used smaller word blocks. I did use the Threading water punch on some of the card mats and then the Victorian blade from my Purple Cows Cutter on some of the others. On the image mats I used my Purple Cows cutter with the Deckle blade *which is totally okie's favorite blade by far*. I used the Signo Um-153 pen on the image mats and Stampin Up black marker for the stitching look on the green mat. For the card edging I used some white acrylic paint with a piece of sponge.

Skull Halloweeen card

There are times when I forget what all cuts are on the carts I have, I mean seriously how I am suppose to remember what is on every cart! *okie knows that no one else knows either so she doesn't feel so bad*. I wanted to make a Halloween card and I wanted a skull. I don't have Indie Art so I went and did a keyword search in Design Studio and found this really cool skull and cross bones on Paper Doll Dress Up and thought it would be perfect for a SKULL HALLOWEEN CARD

- Stamped and Paper Doll Dress Up are the carts used
- Patterned Paper is Bo Bunny
- Doodling is with Signo UM-153 pen and Stampin Up black marker
- Rhinestones for the eyes
- Studio G Halloween stamp for the sentiment


I used the Cricut markers on the skull...and hate it! But nothing I can do about it now. I think it had something to do with the paper, it absorbed the ink a little too well! I wasn't using Prism cardstock, that is for sure!

The file is set to cut 6 at a time and was designed on a 12x12 mat. On the skull mat you will want to put your white on the left hand side row of skulls and the black on the right. I hid some of the contours so I could have the black in the eyes and nose since I didn't see a feature like that on the cart. Oh the sentiment mat will actually work with several of the Studio G Halloween stamps!

Stressing

Okay I admit I am stressing over this whole Guest Designer bit! I do have an idea for my craft project *okie thinks to self "yeah and you have had about 4 others also"*. I think it will be one that people will like and be able to use for a variety of occasions but for the GD spot it will be Christmas themed.

Now aren't ya curious?? *okie laughs evilly like only okie can*

I gotta start thinking about the other projects and what to do!!

I was chosen to be a Guest Designer

For the blog Christmas With The Cricut. I agreed because at the time it sounded like a really cool idea and I was excited about being chosen and thinking what I could come up with for the projects. And even if I did...well I think it is against the rules to let you know! *okie cracks up laughin* So guess you will have to stay tuned to see what transpires!

Get Wild

Get Wild...It's your day This cut file will cut 4 cards at a time. You will need the following carts
Zebra - Animal Kingdom
Leaves - Stretch Your Imagination
Sentiment - Alphalicous and Wild Cards
of course you can change the sentiments if you wish or if you don't have the carts I used. It is set for a 12x12 mat But things should be easy to move around if you have the baby bug.

I love this card!! I found this hot pink zebra stripe paper at the LSS and got it for a card for a friend of mine and still had some scraps left over so thought I would use it on some other cards. I only made 3 of these so I will have to be very choosy about who I send them to.

The zebra head is from Animal Kingdom, the leaves are from Stretch Your Imagination, the "get wild" is Alphalicious and the inside sentiment is from Wild Cards.

I used the Tiny Mosaic Cuttlebug folder on the silver metallic paper.

I used Stickles to highlight the words and the leaves.


Here ya can see the dimensions where I pop dotted the zebra head and the sentiment on the front. I thought about doing happy birthday on the inside but I thought this worked out just fine.

Sunshine and Sunflowers

I went to stamp club Thursday night with my friend Linda. While I didn't get much accomplished I did actually get more than I usually do accomplished. Carol, the lady who heads up the group, had sent an email that she would be bringing sunflower stamps. I thought about my large daisy punch and how I could use it to make sunflowers. I did get 4 of these cards made.

The sunflowers are made with the EK Success Daisy whale of a punch and the centers are a 1" circle punch. I used the Swiss Dots Cuttlebug folder on the centers also. I am not sure what paper the gingham is but the green is Basic Grey. Both are some scraps that Carol had brought for use.


I used two flowers for each card, but I cut one in half and used it like that. I only pop dotted the full flower. I used the cuttlebug distressed stripes folder on the green paper for more dimension. The stamp was one that Carol brought. I didn't stamp anything on the inside because I thought this could be used for several different occasions and I didn't want to commit to using them for just one.

Feeling Under the Weather?

I have been wanting to use some of My Favorite Things stamps sets and I pulled this one out since I didn't have any get well cards. I am really liking the layering of the stamped images. There isn't much room for embellishment with this particular stamp set. I do wish the little dog looked like Lucy since my little Lucy is such a cutie but I guess I can't have it all!

I stamped on the blue for the background then I stamped on white. On the white I colored the dog and the flesh tone for the lady. I glued the white onto the blue. I then stamped on the yellow mica for the raincoat and boots. I glued the boots on and then pop dotted the raincoat.


I did pop dot the raincoat that I had stamped on the mica cardstock and I think it really made the card look so much better. I colored the ruffle of the coat with the white Signo gel pen as I did with the dots on the rain boots. I then used Stickles on them for a little glitz. I also used Stickles on the dog's little coat.








This is a close up so you can see the Glossy Dimensions that I used for the puddle and also made rain drops with. This shows the shimmer of the mica cardstock on the rain coat also. If ya haven't tried this stuff well...ya just don't know what you are missing!

It's All Good

Lyrical Letters has some really neat sayings on it! This saying is on the LL cart and I just kept wanting to use it. I decided to make a card for my Goddaughter has started her freshman year at OSU. I am going to try and send her a card each week. I remember going away for college and even though I was only 45 minutes from home it always felt great to go to my little mail box and have a little note or card from someone.

The paper is K & Comapny Chocolate, or was that Chocolait...one or the other. I used stickles on the vine swirls. The flowers are layered and are from Michaels in the wedding department. I used a few skittles for embellies. I used the Stampin Up scallop border punch also. The flower centers are some brads that I used doodlebug glitter on.

The only thing I don't like about Lyrical Letters is that there isn't a shadow feature. I LOVE SHADOWS!!

Another cherry card

This one I used scraps on and it is note card size. I used this paper on some other cards I posted before. For the notecards I was able to use the scraps which I love being able to use scraps! I am so addicted to cherries right now! I don't know why I am...I just am! The cherry and sentiment stamp is from the same Stampedeous set. The squares are a 1" punch, 1.25" punch and the SU scallop square punch.

I am beginning to really like making the smaller notecards because they go together really fast and they are a great way to use scraps because they don't require very much paper to jazz it up.

add another candle

I am just lovin Lyrical Letters!! I don't think I really like the paper but I do like the cuts! The paper is Imaginesce *okie knows she probably spelled that wrong and is too lazy to look up the correct spelling* and the cake is with mica cardstock. Of course with mica I have to use the deepest blade setting and the highest pressure but I sure do love the look!









Here you can see where I was able to color the mica cardstock and was pleased that the shimmer still came through. I used SU markers for coloring the candles and then used Stickles for the flames.

Cuttlebug Birthday

I love the birthday cuttlebug folder and then a friend of mine sent me a special set that came with some little embossing sets and one had a birthday cut and emboss stamp set and I came up with this little birthday card. I think it will work great for a male card.

4 Star Movie Card

I so totally swiped this idea from Jeannie Phillips on the Cricut messageboard! She is one talented lady, let me tell you! If you have a minute go over and check out her work on her blog at A Place For My Cards or you can also check her out at Win a Handcrafted Card and see if you can't win one of her fabulous creations!

When I saw Jeannie's card I fell in love with it and knew I wanted to make some. My sister gives her (grown) sons movie gift cards in their Christmas stockings each year and I thought this card would be great for her to put the gift cards in. I sent Jeannie a message and asked if she minded if I posted a .cut file to the 4 STAR MOVIE CARD on my blog. Being the gracious person she is, she said she didn't mind at all!

I used Plantin for most of the cuts, however I did use Locker Talk for the ticket. If you want to use the file you can just delete the images of the ticket. The file is set to cut 4 at a time. I also just used my trimmer to cut the silver for the back of the film strip. I used a background stamp for the popcorn bucket and then colored in between some of the lines with a Stampin Up marker. I used cat eye ink to do the shading on the bucket, ticket and popcorn. The mats are all labeled for you. There are some extra circles that will cut to help you fill in the popcorn bucket, but you might have to punch or cut a few extra also.





I pop dotted the popcorn and ticket for some added dimension *okie so loves dimension on cards...and layouts...and is glad we live in a 3 dimensional world*. I didn't glue the bucket all the way down so I could slide some "popcorn" in the bucket. I added some stickles to the popcorn just because I thought it might look good and I LOVE STICKLES! Anyone else out there love Stickles? Can I get a HELL YEAH! *okie cracks up laughing at herself knowing that people are rolling their eyes and thinking 'that dang okie ain't got no kinda sense'*. I did use the white Signo pen to do the doodling around the edge of the card.

The saying is generic so it can be used for various occasions. Also the sentiment is completely in one piece so if you want to resize it you can. Just don't forget to resize the stars that go on top also. I used Doodlebug sugar glitter on the stars and then dotted with black diamond Stickles. I also doodled with the white Signo pen on the letters.






The inside envie will hold a gift card. No that is not a movie gift card, it is my Staples Teacher Rewards card! I had to make sure it was the right size and that is the card I pulled out of my purse to use as an example. But it does fit rather nicely with the stars on there now doesn't it. I used some Aileens Tack It Over and Over on the flap of the envie so it will stay close but yet be able to reopen.

Good news and bad news....

Bad news.....I didn't get the popup card cut tonight *okie hopes no one realizes that her farming kept her busy*.

Good news.....I will have files for the E using Plantin and the Baby Bug using George!

Will try to get them on here tomorrow!!

WHO LOVES YA BABY

BUG USERS!?! THAT'S RIGHT.......OKIE DOES!!

I was able to manage to get the Tri-Shutter GBS card .cut file made. Now let me tell you this sucker is a little tempermental so I don't suggest moving anything on the card base around or ya might get the DREADED RED X OF DEATH! *okie knows from experience*. It will only cut one card at a time but at least ya don't have to do all that stinking measuring. The instructions will be the same as the Plantin version.

**WARNING** I did not do a test cut on this file because I don't have my baby bug hooked up. So whoever uses it please let me know if it is working okay!

I will try....

To make a version of the tri-shutter card with George and for the baby bug. Keep your fingers crossed because ya know the dang DS wants to give me the dreaded RED X OF DEATH when I try to drag an image very large.

I am also going to try and get the pop up card done this evening and hopefully post it.

Tri-Shutter .cut file and instructions

Here are the instructions for the Tri-Shutter card PS. I used Plantin Schoolbook for the cut file and also the Expressions. Since the card calls for a 5.5 x 12 inch piece of card stock for the base the paper doesn't cut all the way to the end, but it is easily clipped as seen in Step 2. I also added extra tabs for multiple or single card cuts. The mats are all labeled *okie hopes she did....she thinks she did*.

1. This is what you end up with once you cut your base. As you can see even the cut lines are there. Not sure if youc an see the score lines in the small picture but if you click the picture and make it bigger you will see that the score lines are there for you.






2. You will need to clip the ends of the card stock since the E only cuts 11.5 inches. But that is no big deal about getting it straight since it is just a small snip that you will have to do.









3. Once you cut your pattern paper this is components of the card you will have. I see now that I missed getting the middle rectangle in the picture, but it is in the cut file. The tabs are all labeled and there is PP1 and PP2 for patterned paper 1 and patterned paper 2.







4. Next you will want to score your card and then fold according to the picture. I know it might be hard to tell in the picture where to fold but you will be able to tell more once you have it in front of you.








5. And here you see how the papers are placed. I inked my edges and added brads before I placed the paper down permanently.










And this is my end product!! I added flowers, inked the edges, stamped flourishes, Stickled the flourishes and I had to hand write the sentiment since I didn't have the sayings I wanted and I was too lazy to do it with the printer. I did use the Stamp Up Tag punches and Keytag punch and I used EK Success oval punches.

A tri-shutter .cut file and a pop-up card cut file!

I got both of the .cut files done but I don't want to post them until I get them tweaked and make sure they work okay. I did get the tri-shutter cut tonight and stickles are drying so it will be tomorrow before I post the pictures and such. I am hoping to get the pop-up card cut tomorrow and get it posted also.

I start back to school tomorrow so I won't have as much time to work on things as I have had in the last few months but to be honest I think sometimes I get more done when I am busier. Don't have time to procrastinate then! LOL

Here is the tri-shutter card I made. I will have instructions for it tomorrow, along with the cut file.

Film strip cut files

I had a request some time ago for a film strip that would hold bigger pictures and I made one that will hold 3 x 3.25 inch photos. There was mention about a film strip again today on the Cricut Message board and I remembered I hadn't ever posted my cut file.

The 3 x 3.25 Filmstrip PS will cut two at a time on the expressions, it must use a 12x12 mat and Plantin Schoolbook. The strip will measure 11.5 inches.

The 3 x 3.25 Filmstrip GBS will cut one at a time on the baby bug and must use a 6x12 mat and George and Basic Shapes. This strip will also measure approximately 11.5 inches.

Here is a screen shot of the PS version. The GBS version will be turned the other way but is basically the same cut. I did have to click weld for the objects to show up on the screenshot but they are not welded in the cut file.

Cherry Good Wishes

I got Lyrical Letters today and I had to try it out! I have been drooling over it for awhile and then completely fell in love with it for the saying Cherry Good Wishes. The cut file is set to cut 6 cards at a time. I used George for the scallop rectangle and the mats and Lyrical Letters is used for the "cherry good wishes". I used the Swiss Dots Cuttlebug folder on the white mat. The white strip is done with the Stampin Up scallop border punch and isn't included it the cut file.

I did cut the stem off the red cuts for the cherries. I used glossy dimensions on the cherries also, though I am not sure you can tell in the picture.



Here is a close up of the saying and I think if you click you can see the glossy dimensions better. I took the picture before the stickles on the scallop rectangle was dry so they aren't showing up quite as well as they do now that they are dry.








Here is a close up picture of the dimensions. I pop dotted the scallop rectangle to pop it off the card a bit. I LOVE DIMENSION!!

Berry Sweet Birthday Wishes

I love that saying and have seen it in several magazines and also on the Cricut message board and I decided to use it. I made a cut file for the Berry Sweet Birthday Wishes card since I had to make the strawberry from scratch.

I used Plantin School book for the strawberry and the mats. I used All Mixed Up for the sentiment. I had gotten a K & Company paper pack that had all kinds of berries in it and I knew it would be great for some kinda berry card. It is set to cut 6 at a time, but you will have to cut the strawberries and leaves twice since I was too lazy to keep copy and pasting the parts for them.

I used the D'vine Swirls Cuttlebug folder on the strawberry and Swiss Dots on the white. I also used the Stampin Up scallop border punch on the white mat.

I used All Mixed Up for the saying.

Here is the front along with the saying inside. I used a stamp from an Inkadinkado cupcake set I had for the inside sentiment. I used Stampin Up Riding Hood Red ink.





Here is a close up of the berry and saying. You can see the detail better. I used diamond Stickles on the swirls and the words. The little round embellies are Robin's Nest embellies adhered with super glue *okie again hears the gasps* OH GET OVER IT! IT WORKS!! *okie cracks up laughin*.

HOLY DUCK!

My friend Linda came over yesterday to make cards *okie still is wonders why she and Linda don't get much accomplished when they are together* and we had to make a run to the LSS just to see if there was anything we couldn't live without. I saw this duck paper over with the baby stuff and thought immediately about a belated birthday card!

I went back and forth on using either "Awww Duck" or "Holy Duck" and went with the "Holy Duck". I wasn't sure if people would "get it" but I quickly found out that people understood the hidden meaning of "holy duck" because they cracked up laughin when they saw the card.

The duck paper is We R Memory Keepers, not sure what the patterned paper is...it is some that Linda gave me. The "holy duck" is cut out with Printing Press. The sentiment on the inside of the card is from an Inkadinkado stamp that had a snail with it, but it fit nicely for my duck card.

Bright Birthday

I don't really have a name for this birthday card but the paper is very bright, so I am just callin it Bright Birthday *okie shakes her head at herself*.

After making so many small note cards this card seemed huge to me! LOL

The paper is Bo Bunny and I can't remember the name of the line right off hand. The circle sentiment is also a sheet from this line. I used my circle punches to cut out the circles on the paper to use for the sentiments and then used the Stampin Up scallop punch. The balloon brads are some I ordered from Eyelet Outlet *okie highly recommends that company to anyone* they have the most awesome clearance sales and their shipping is like actual shipping...no trumped up charges. Well at least it was the last time I ordered from them.

I resisted the urge to use brown ink for my edges and used warm red this time. I just thought I would keep the card bright. To me this looks more like a card for a kid because of the colors.

Note Card Set

of 72...that is right...a total of 72 note cards is what I made! As most of ya know I can't just make one of a card, I would rather make 4-6 of a card because to me it just makes sense *okie shrugs*.

I started the note cards as an idea for a birthday gift for a family member and then I thought "dang I will need prizes for my annual Girlfriend Christmas Party so I might as well make some for that". So I did.

Here is the little tin I altered to put the note cards in. Not all the sets have a tin, just one very special set and I can't say who it is for since they might read my blog and it would ruin the surprise. I used a small Tim Holtz tin and I wish I had about 2 dozen more of these but sadly this was my last one! I used a chipboard swirl and covered it with paper and added some bling to jazz it up a bit. The paper is Fancy Pants and the flowers are prima's. I know the ribbon doesn't look like it matches in the picture...but it does in person *okie things photographs are very strange things sometimes*. And yes I used some stickles!

The note cards measured approximately 5 x 3.5 inches so they fit nicely in the tin as you can see here. I had no problem fitting all 12 in the tin and probably could have fit a few more...but 14 or 15 just doesn't seem as nice as an even dozen...and besides...I was running out of ideas!

Set 1 -
In this first set I have "cherry hello", "you are the best" and "thinking of you". The papers were mostly from scraps and vary by company. I used the Stampin Up scallop punches on these. Even the "cherry hello" is an SU punch...it is called word window. The little cherry stamp is from a Stampedous set as is the sentiment. The sentiments on the other two cards are Studio G's.

Set 2 -
Again I used mostly scraps. The stamps are all Studio G's. The cupcake one is a wood block one *okie knows it will have to be unmounted if it wants to stay in her collection*. I also used some border punches on these. The scallop is Stampin Up, the scallop with dots is Fiskars Threading Water *okie has no idea how ya thread water and thinks it is a ridiculous name for a punch* and the scallop with half circles is a Martha Stewart punch called Apron, I think anyway. The white flower is also a punch, it is EK Success Daisy Whale of a Punch. I double layered the flower and curled the petals slightly for some dimension.

Set 3 -
The "hello" card is probably my least favorite of the bunch. I tried my hand at paper piercing and let me tell you...I NEED MORE PRACTICE! My daughter thought it was just down right ugly! LOL The flowers on the other two cards are from Michaels in the wedding section. A friend of mine sent them to me and I think they are fantastic for little cards. If I remember correctly I think they are about $5 for a little bucket and there is a lot in the bucket! The tag is the Stampin Up tag punch. The pink flower card has the Martha Stewart double lattice punch used on it. I also used the cuttlebug distressed stripes *okie so loves that embossing folder*.

Set 4 -
As you can see there is the card that started it all...the coffee card! It is a My Favorite Things stamp set. The "friends" card has 3 different punches used. I am not sure what the border punch is called but it is a Martha Stewart punch as is the little butterfly. I use that butterfly a lot! The sentiment is the curly label punch. I stamped the image on the green paper and then punched it. I then stamped the image on ivory paper and cut around the oval. The "friends" in the center is from an Inkadinkadoo set I have. Okay WHO DOESN'T LOVE THE LADYBUG CARD?? And if you said "me" then you can leave my blog now! *okie gives mean dirty looks at the crowd lookin for anyone who doesn't love the ladybug card*. My friend ScrapperDelighted sent me a couple of sheets of that ladybug paper and I knew I had to use it! The ribbon came from the LSS that closed down last year. I used several circle punches for the sentiment to acheive the effect I got *okie makes it sound like she planned it the way it looks when in reality she just couldn't decide on what to do and kept punch paper*. The little sentiment is a Studio G stamp.

So as you can see I have been busy afterall! Just too dang lazy to take pictures of each one individually since they are considered a set! LOL

No seriously....I AM! *okie cracks up laughin*

I know I haven't posted anything in awhile but that doesn't mean I haven't been busy! I did 6 sets of 12 note cards for gifts. Really....*okie nodding head up and down* I did...I promise! That little dang coffee card in my last post started it all! I will see if I can get those posted this afternoon but right now I have to go check in at the school. I can't believe the summer is over already! But I will be glad to get back to a better schedule...which means more money....which means more scrappin supplies!!

Oh by the way...Who here has a Dream Kuts?? And do ya like it. I am seriously contemplating asking Santa for this for Christmas *okie wonders if Santa delivers early*. I am too cheap to make a full card out of my Stampin Up card stock so I am cutting the pieces into 4 and just using them on white cardstock to do cards *yes...okie does know she is a cheap azz...and okie doesn't care*.
