Stampin Up! Sweet Scoops

I recently acquired the Stamin Up! Sweet Scoops stamp set and I tell ya I love it! I hadn't even seen it until my friend Linda pointed it out to me. I finished up my ink club and since it was my month to be hostess I got this stamp set for free! *okie so loves free!* I went with the clear stamp option, and even though they are not clear stamps they do store nicely in the DVD case and I believe I will be ordering in future stamps in this option.

Supplies Used:
Stamps - Stampin Up! Sweet Scoops
Inks - Stampin Up!, Cat Eye Chalk Ink
Cardstock - Stampin Up! Bazzil, Prism
Patterned paper - Daisy D's, Basic Grey
Embellishments - Fiskars Zingz
Embossed Rectangle and Scallop Rectangle - Spellbinders Nestibilities

I don't use my Nestibilities very often but I do really like them. I guess sometimes I find them a pain to use because I don't make just one card so I am constantly changing plates, rubber mat, chipboard shims, etc.

The inside sentiment is from a hostess level 3 set that I got from my Stampin Up! party back in February. Both the sentiments are stamped in Brocade Blue.

The Fiskars Zingz added just enough embellishment without making the card too ornate *for some reason okie thinks she has to have some type of embellishment on a card*

Here on the close up of the ice cream cone you can see how it was double stamped. I stamped the cone first and then the ice cream scoop. I did use my Stampin-ma-jig to get it lined up. On a seperate sheet of cardstock I stamped the ice cream scoop again and then stamped with the ridgy *okie has no idea if that is what it is called* stamp. I then cut out the scoop of ice cream and pop dotted it on top of the one stamped on the cone.

I can't wait to play with this stamp set again!

  4. Stephanie thinks Okie did an awesome job on this card! She really likes the colors and how everything ties together so nicely. Stephanie also loves the way Okie refers to herself in third person. Is that what it is called third person...whatever it is Stephanie gets a great kick out of it. TFS Okie.

    Hugs:)

  7. That is soooo cute!!! :) That must have been some SU! party you had back in February to earn a level 3 hostess gift (I only wish!). ;)

Do you think you need the Stampamajig with the new unmounted stamps? I haven't tried it yet, but I was hoping that if you had a large enough acrylic block, you could line them both up and stamp them at the same time (I guess it might be hard if you're using two ink colors, though). Can't wait until I have more time to play around...

    Thanks for sharing,

    Jennifer

  9. Linda you know you can borrow my set ANYTIME...except from Sunday at 5pm through Saturday at 12am. HA HA HA

Jennifer the Stamp-ma-jig is great of aligning any stamps and I use it a lot! Especially if I am trying to stamp on a piece of paper that is already cut. But definitely a must if you have layered stamps. You can get them at M's or HL with a coupon too!!

  12. It's a good thing I know where you keep the house key! I'll be quiet when I pick up the stamps.

I know I can bribe Lucy to be quiet with a doggie treat so you'll never know if you just misplaced the stamps or I "borrowed" them. ROFLMAO!

BTW, It's call the "Feathering" of the ice cream. (I saw it on FoodNetwork, lol)

  14. Thank you Kristal! I knew there had to be a name for the thing! LOL And I have to admit "feathering" sounds way better than "ridgy" LOL
