Doing Away With Stamping...WHAT?

Just last week I was looking at my stamps a categorized and lined up in their place and then glanced up at all my ink pads and tried to remember the last time I did any stamping and if I would ever feel the desire to do so again. I considered selling them all and then got to thinking of how hard it would be to sell the stamps since I broke them apart from their sets and put them in categories such as birthday, Christmas, flowers, etc. I didn't think long on it since I had something else I was working on.

I had recently gotten the Flower Shop Bundle from Stampin Up which included this stamp set and the coordinating Pansy Punch and hadn't used them since like I said I haven't done any stamping but I also had been working on some layouts lately and thought I should at least use them once before deciding to get rid of all my stamping items.

I worked on the first card and thought "yeah okay stamping is okay, I might keep my stuff" and then I started on another set of cards. By the 3rd set of cards I was remembering why I loved stamping and was suddenly glad once again I have all the supplies at hand to make things I want!

Needless to say I won't be parting with my stamping items and I am ashamed to admit I have even seen another bundle I want, the Petite Petals Clear Mount Bundle! After making the 6 different cards with the other bundle I really, really, really NEED this in my collection!

I am so enthralled with my stamping hobby again that I even labeled all my inks in my ink holder. Now it will be so much easier to grab the colors I need to use. Oh and notice the open slots? Yeah I think I need to order some of the new colors of ink!

After all this I have to think "doing away with stamping? WHAT WAS I THINKING!?". I'll be posting my cards over the next few days so you can see what a great set the Flower Shop Bundle is to have.

  1. Too funny - I swear I could have written this post about a month ago. I LOVE stamping! I can't get rid of my stamps! Now if I could just find some TIME to go with all those stamps......

  2. I feel the same way every once in a while. Glad to know that others go through the same thought process from time to time. Can't wait to see the cards!

  3. I know what you mean - I am either in a stamping making mode or cutting assembling mode. Then I remember how much I love them both!

  6. You scared me with your title - I had to check it out first this morning... so glad to see that after all that categorizing and sorting you did not decide to get rid of your stamps.

  7. I, too sometimes think about getting rid of my stamping supplies, but I started back up in a Stampin Up club last summer and love their new stuff. You may already know this... SU has also changed their ink pads. They are like a foam pad and you just barely tap the stamp onto the pad to ink the stamp. I have now replaced all of my old ink pads with the new style and I'm in love all over again. :-)

  8. I also go through phases of liking different things and ignoring others, but I would NEVER part with my stamps, and you shouldn't either!!! At least you have a nice craftroom that you can have a little (okay, let's be honest, a lot) of everything and bounce from hobby to hobby :)
