Why My Files Are .mtc Only

After many requests and questions of why and will I convert my .mtc files to SVG format I am going to explain why I am now only doing files in .mtc format.

1. I have a career that takes up a lot of my home time as well *okie cringes just thinking about the hours of paperwork she has to do every week and doesn't get paid for* so the time I have to craft is precious to me and I want to use it to my benefit.

2. Make The Cut software is very reasonably priced and you never pay for an update or upgrade with this software and it will convert many different file formats. The makers of the software are very generous with not having people pay for new versions so I think this is a way I can support them for their generosity. I bought it and so can others.

AND

3. My files are always free, I offer them because I hope others can use them. I do not get paid to make the files and therefore I will continue to make files available that are the easiest and less time consuming for me to save and upload.

If this offends anyone then *okie cracks up laughing*, well ya'll know what I think about that, if you don't know then you haven't been around here very long. I do appreciate all the comments and compliments on my files but I will not be offering my files in SVG format in the foreseeable future.

  1. Good for you! I do have a question though - is there a way I can use them for a Silhouette? Can we use Make the Cut software in some way on the Silhouette machine or to convert the files? I'd be happy to buy the software if it allows me to use your files on my machine.

    1. Make The Cut does work with the Silhouette, along with many other machines. You can convert a .mtc file into an SVG file with the program and then open the SVG in other programs. Most of my friends who are Cameo users have MTC and they use it instead of the Silhouette software because they said they think it is easier.

  2. They are you files, offered your way. Those are the rules, I can live with that. I think you are very generous to offer them at all. They take a lot of work to make, and you offer them at no cost ... who could ask for more than that? I wish I had the equipment and programs to utilize these great files, Unfortunately, I don't ... which is my loss.... but that won't stop me from dropping in and leaving a note to let you know that I like them. After all, I can still look and appreciate your great work. =)

    3. well I just had the expression and then my computer crashed and I had not backed up the software so I had a really early version of MTC and basically it sucked after having a higher version and I could not cut anything anyone put out there with a higher version so it was awful. . I'm SO excited. Thanks for all you do!

  6. Your files, your choice. If I didn't have MTC already, I would be tempted to get it because of your files!! Thanks for always being so generous with your terrific work!

  7. bravo!! bravo!! what I don't understand is..what does a person think that they can dictate or be upset on how you offer something that is "FREE" to them??? I read your blog regularly but don't post often and "DO" appreciate your hard work!..I bought the MTC software just before the lawsuit took place..that bother me so I bought the Zing die cutting machine that uses the software...I no longer buy cartridges or support pc.....so you go girl!!! and just "make your chit"...lol
