Create A Critter - So Dear

A very dear person *okie giggles at typing that since the card is "so dear" and thinks of what a nerd she is* sent me the Create A Critter cartridge. She had made a card and sent it to me and it had a whale on it. I asked what cart that adorable whale was from and she told me Create A Critter and that she had an extra cartridge that she would send me. I told her to let me pay but she insisted the cart find a loving home.

I looked through the images on what to make and decided on the deer. I wanted to do something out of my comfort zone so I not only made the deer a color she/he shouldn't be, but I also made he/she *okie really wishes ProvoCraft wouldn't make the animals so androgynous* with polka dots.

Supplies Used:
Cricut Expression
Cricut carts - Create A Critter; George
Cardstock - Stampin Up, Bazzill
Patterned paper - Daisy D's, Bo Bunny
Stickles
Spareparts brads
Stampin up markers
Cat Eye Inks

I didn't have the three brads on there at first and was trying to figure out what the card needed. After I added the brads I thought "YEP! THAT WAS IT!" *okie is always so amazed how something as simple as 3 brads can make a card really look nice*.

I thought the deer looked a little better with some dots put in some of the areas and then I kept looking at it thinking it just didn't look "alive" *okie rolls eyes at self wondering why she wants a teal polka dot deer to look alive"*. I decided to add a few eyelashes and a hint of white to highlight the eyes. It really did make the world of difference!

Look what the Stickles did to my dots on the collar and butterfly! I am so silly and forgot that it makes them bleed because SU markers are waterbased. Oh well, it almost gives it that watercolor effect.

I left the inside of the card blank because I wasn't sure what kind of sentiment I want to use.

It looks likes it might work for a "baby shower" card but then I thought about "So dear...your old azz is having another birthday!" But most of ya'll know my weird sense of humor.

Huh, maybe I should send this to my friend Caroline, who lives in Oregan and is having the pleasure of celebrating her 50th birthday by serving jury duty! *okie cracks up laughin figuring Caroline will either kill okie for calling Caroline and 'old azz' or for telling her age*.

Don't forget the deadline to enter for the ProMarker Giveaway is tonight at midnight! I planned on crafting all day but I think my daughter and I are going to the All Nations Powwow here in town for awhile, or at least until she has to go to work. But I will have another Create A Critter card to post tomorrow!

  13. Hi Shirley!
You probably don't remember me from the Cricut board as I hardly ever go there anymore. At one time I was ScrappingAnnie until I found out there was a Scrappin'Annie on some stamping site so I changed to AnnsGoneScrappy.
Anyway, I decided since I've been reading your blogs from day one that I should be a follower! How many years has this taken me? LOL.
Love your blog and, moreso, your uplifting view of life and sense of humor!
