Create A Critter - We Bee

Okay so this is probably my favorite out of the Create A Critter cards and I thought about saving it for the last post of the cards but then that would be out of the order I made them...so it gets posted today!

Those little bee wings about made me blind. I think I cut the little suckers at one inch so the wings were very tiny! I wasn't able to ink anything on them so I did add a little highlight with a Signo UM 153 gel pen.

Supplies Used:
Cricut Expression
Cricut carts - Create A Critter; Storybook; Walk In My Garden
Cuttlebug; D'Vine Swirls folder
Cardstock - Stampin Up, Core'dinations
Patterned paper - various
Stickles - Diamond
Janome Sew Mini
Stampin up markers
Cat Eye Inks
Studio G letter stamps
Fiskars Zingers

In the close up you can see the Fiskars Zingerz a little better. Also the sanded Core'dinations shows better. I really like the Paisley folder used on the beehive.

The green shape was done with Storybook and I used Design Studio to stretch the shape out to the size I needed, it needed to be a bit wider than what it was. I also cut a heart from George, after I stretched it to the size I needed to overlay on top of the heart that was on the bee hive since there wasn't a layer feature for it. Or if there was I didn't see it.

I used the Janome Sew Mini to stitch around it and also the striped paper in the background *okie thinks she might have wasted her time on it since it doesn't show very much*.

The word "friends" was done with Walk In My Garden. I tamped a cat eye ink pad on top of it so it looked a little distressed and not so stark.

I couldn't help but think of my friend Carmen "Scrappinbee" the whole time I was making these cards! Of course I am sure she will want one and I will tell her "you can make one with your Cricut!" *okie cracks up laughin*

Tomorrow I will be featuring the horse from Create A Critter.

If you would like to make this card you can find the cut file here... WE BEE FRIENDS.

UPDATE -

I added the .cut files to this post and also the So Dear card. I will be posting the link to the .cut files for the next two cards as well. Thanks for your responses!!

  32. This card is too stinkin' cute! My opinion... it was worth going blind over! But, it does make me mad to look at it... I can't decide if I want to go shopping and get some core'dinations paper and make one like it or just give up scrapbooking all together because I'll never get my crap together to do something this good. Thanks for putting me between debt and depression! : D
