Heart Broken - layout

Doesn't a crying baby just break your heart? I could never stand my daughter crying when she was a baby. It would literally make my heart ache. Now though....not so much *okie hears the gasps from folks thinking okie is a mean mother*. Not that I want her to cry now or don't care, it's just that the older kids get the more they use those tears to try and manipulate us!!

Supplies used:
Cricut - Expressions; Elegant Edges cartridge; Rock Princess cartridge;
K & Company -
Signo UM 153 gel pen
Cardstock - various
Janome Sew Mini
Hot Fix Gems
Flat Back Pearls
Cat Eye Chalk Ink
Safmat - for journaling

I added the flat back pearls to the center of the cuts on the large mat I cut with Elegant Edges. I did this after I got the layout put together so I didn't have to waste pearls on the centers that wouldn't be shown and also so it wouldn't be bulged from the pearls.

I only sewed down the vertical strip since that seemed like the only place that needed something.

The title is from Rock Princess and seemed just perfect for this layout. I sanded the pink heart on that layer to give it a distress edges.

I inked on the words and then added some highlights with a white gel pen. I really think that highlights can make letters stand out a lot more, especially when letters are welded.

This is the journaling block that I posted yesterday showcasing the Letraset Safmat Film. As you can see it is so easy to make it match the layout and not have to worry about printing on the cardstock or if it will fit through your printer.

  1. OMG ... Okie I love this LO ... and that pic of your daughter is precious beyond words. It's the kind of picture that makes your bottom lip come out and feel just as sad as she is. I remember those moments with my own children and how my own heart would ache! What a wonderful memory to capture.
