HELP! COMPLAINT CAMPAIGN - SU Clear Mount Stamps

First off you guys all know how much I love my Stampin Up products and have considered becoming a demo but due to their restrictions about what I could post on my own website I decided against it. Now I do have a MAJOR complaint about one of their products - the Clear Mount Stamps!

When I first started buying the clear mount I was thrilled. I loved the idea that they take up less space and I even changed how I store stamps and converted all my stamps to the Stampin Up cases because it saved so much space, which most of you already know this information. When the clear mount first came out the cling we put on the stamps worked wonderfully, they stuck to the cases and stamp blocks without any problem. BUT NOW...they don't stick worth crap! I have noticed this in about the last year. I finally called Stampin Up to ask them about it and they said they weren't aware of any problem and offered to send me new sets of stamps to replace the ones I had and I told the that would be cost prohibitive for them and time consuming for me to go through and find all the ones I bought in the last year.

The nice young man told me there was information available to demo's on what to do for this *okie wonders why they have something written about what to do about it when at first they said they weren't aware of a problem* but unfortunately since I am not a demo I couldn't read the information. He did talk to his supervisor I was given some information to help them work better *okie wonders how much is better when it is at not at all right now* but I don't think we should have to use double sided tape,  huff and puff and rub them on our pants, lick them 3 times and cross our fingers, rub them like they are a magic lamp or any of that other nonsense.

At that point I told him I would post on my Facebook wall, my Facebook group and my website asking people to call in who are having the same issue so they could be aware of the problem people are having with the stamps not clinging. He did not sound thrilled with the idea and wanted to see if he could send me some information to resolve the situation, I am quite sure it is about how to huff and puff on the stamp *okie rolls her eyes* and I did inform him "I do NOT want to huff and puff and blow the house down to make my stamps stick. I want the new ones to work like the old ones did because we pay good money for the product and it should work how it is suppose to work". He informed me that they are not aware of any changes in the product of the cling, etc. I could go into more of the conversation but that is a bit pointless.

Now please call if you have problems with the Clear Mount stamps sticking to the cases or stamping blocks. Let them know you are having this issue. I feel that if we work together as a unit we might get our clear mount stamp working like they use to work and how they should work.

  1. I have had the same problem and was told to clean the cling stamp, clean the block, etc. Nothing worked until I saw a post about putting a few dots of zig glue pen and let it dry then they stick like a charm time after time. I just put a dot on each corner and in the middle. When it dries you can not see it and I have had no problem with them since. I agree SU needs to fix the problem, but this might work for the ones you already have. Good Luck!

  3. I only have 1 set since I used to be a CTMH rep and I love their stamps as they cling great. While I love the design on the SU one, it fell off the block constantly from the first time I used it. I just was not impressed at all up against the CTMH ones I had been using. It's too bad, though, because I really do like some of the SU designs.

  5. Thank you !! I have ALWAYS had trouble w SU clear stamps. I love the concept so much that it has never prevented me from buying additional ones, but it really stinks how horrible they are for actually sticking! :(. I'm really surprised that they haven't tried to make them better by now because their products are some of the best quality ones I've ever used.....

  6. They don't stick on blocks well and I was very frustrated at first. I decided to peel off the labels that were supposed to on the foam. If you don't care about seeing the image when you stamp, this is a great way to do. I always use the stamp positioner when I need.

  8. I too do not put the labels on the stamps &...I put Tack It Over & Over by Aleenes which I think is sold through Duncan on the back of the stamps. It sticks them even better. It takes a little while to do it to all the stamps, but it does work.

  9. Their cling-less stamps are horrible. Worst decision they ever made. I rarely use mine and do not feel l should have to huff, tape, spray or anything else to use a stamp set that is already higher priced than anything else on the market. I spoke with my dollars and stopped buying stamps from them. Still love their cardstock, though. Great way to motivate change, Okie. You rock!

  10. Hi Okie...I still buy SU stamps but what I don't do is put the label on the stamp and they stick great,,,I put the label on the inside case and leave the stamps in red cut outs(does that make sense?) then I'm able to put two stamps set in one case. I even put the covering on too, I just make a slit in the middle cover edge so both pics show one set on front and the second on back (one is up side down) hope this make sense SU reps that answers the phone never know how to answer a REAL question...I wonder if the even use their products?? I also call about a embossing folder that was made upside down the rep said OH?? went to the warehouse checked and said they are all upside down?? "I wonder if they made them that way on purpose?" really??? yikes! does the owner know what its employees are answering...oh well hope the way I suggested helps...all you can do is try it (if what I said made sense...lol)

  12. Go Okie Go! -- I agree that the last bunch do not cling. I just thought it was me. I ended up just licking my stamps and it's enough to get me through what I need to stamp but I really don't want to have to lick all my stamps. Yuck! I also REFUSE to put redline, ATG, Alene's or any kind of glue on them to muck them up. That is a reciepe for a complete, and messy, nightmare for me. I'm with you. I love my Stampin Up! but customers will only deal with so much. -- Kathy Wyatt (KathyLuvsRaggedy)
