About the Gypsy....

Yep, it's true. I do have a Gypsy now. But I have to tell you folks.....I STILL LOVE MY DESIGN STUDIO MORE!! The Gypsy can have it's benefits for sure but there is no way I will give up Design Studio and making files for it. I like being able to see on the big screen. To me it is like going from a movie theater to a tiny tv to watch a movie. Heck DS is like IMAX compared to the Gypsy screen! LOL

Maybe I just need to play with the Gypsy some more so I can see that I do like it. But it will never replace my beloved Design Studio!

  1. Please Please Don't stop posting with the DS. I can not use the gypsy because the screen is to small!!!! I agree with you about the I max TV ratio :)

  3. But you can love them both. I still use my DS also for the large screen and to fool my DH, he thinks I am doing "work" when I have the lap top out, then I just quick upload to the "little black box" (he can no longer count my cartridges now, he thinks I just own ONE black box, no clue on the number of carts because I don't have to have them out anymore)

Sometimes he gets jealous of crafting time so I just use the laptop. On trips I take my G and carry her in my car. I've even used her and base camp on a 12x24 pad as a notepad when I didn't have pen and paper handy LOL

So they both have a purpose .....
DS for the large screen, G to hide how many carts I have LOL

  6. I enjoy using my gypsy. To me the DS seemed to difficult to use. Have fun. It took me a while to enjoy using it but now I use it all the time with my cricut, and i use my cuttlebug too.

  7. LOL!! These are my exact thoughts, and why I haven't gone out on a limb and gotten the Gypsy. I guess if I were more of a mobile scrapper then I may feel differently.

  9. Welcome to the Gypsy club! I have seen the comments on the MB to you, so what finally convinced you? I do not have DS so cannot say which I prefer but I do love my Gypsy. That's why, even though I love your files you give out, I never download them because I cannot convert them to Gypsy files. Have fun.

  10. The Gypsy does take some getting use to. The more I use it the more I like it, but must agree about DS and the big screen. I do think the Gypsy will grow on you, though. Enjoy!

  14. I totally agree with ya about the DS being like the IMAX and the G like a small TV! LOL I don't have the G and I don't think I'm ever gonna get it... I don't travel to crops or travel at all for that matter.... LOL :)
I like my 23" Computer screen...
I can see plenty with that, and I think the DS is easy to use... I hope you enjoy your new toy and can't wait to see what you create with it or the DS! Have a great day Okie! :)

  15. Girl, lemme tell ya... You are not alone... i've had my Gypsy since November '09, and I still use DS waaaaay more than the G. I like the big screen also. The poor Gypsy is just sittin' on my desk collecting dust.

    Hugs,

  17. I just got a Design Studio but wish it had better instructions. When I construct something and want to move it to a section of the board to be cut in to save paper I can't move the whole thing as one?? I do like it a lot and will learn all how to use it, and what it can't do.

  18. Janet if you will check Capadia's blog I am thinking she has a tutorial on how you can click each image and move the unit as one. However it can't be copy and pasted as one.

  19. I will have to say that I love my gypsy...especially going to crops, no more cartridges, and template to lug!! But I know what you mean about the window. If the stylist is bothering you, I highly recommend to get a normal pen size stylst or the thumb stylst...

  20. I agree with you on this one Okie... I LOVE DS and I'm not fond of the gypsy at all. Really, for me it was wasted money. I could just beat myself up for buying it as I NEVER use it. Thank you for sharing all your wrok and your life with us. I know that when I go to your site I'll find some great work and ideas and you continue to make me smile.
