Wild About You - Stampin Up

I had gotten this animal print paper at Tuesday Morning really cheap and thought about this stamp set and how I wish I had it. When I saw the stamps on Saturday I knew I had to get them, especially at the price of $5!

Supplies Used:
Stampin Up - Wild About You stamp set
Stampin Up - ink, markers
Stampin Up - ticket punch
Pebbles Inc - Zoo Fun paper
Janome Sew Mini
Cat Eye Chalk Ink
Brads

While I am not crazy about how the card turned out I do think it would be good for a kid. I just never make many kid cards because I don't know many kids...well I know a lot of kids, but not small kids.

I am also not sure how I feel about the stitching on the card but what's done is done and I can't undo it...well I could but I won't.

I think what throws me off is the solidness of the color of the elephant and bird. I know that is how it is suppose to be but it just really throws me that it's just...well SOLID. I tried using markers and adding shading but I decided I didn't want to put that much effort into it *okie begins to wonder if she is getting lazy in her old age*.

Since there are a few more animals in the stamp set you will probably see this paper again.

  1. I love this card :D. This kind of stamp is good for (not sure what you call the technique), but if you stamp it with one tone, use a darker tone of ink around the edges. This is the only picture I took of the technique. http://ohhhsnapper.blogspot.com/search/label/Fossils%20kit

  3. I think Okie is being too hard on herself! Okie's card is fab and would be a great "friend" card for a dude or dudette. I can't believe you scored those stamps for $5.

  4. It's adorable! I really like the stitching! If you don't like the solid color... use an embossing folder to add a little somethin' somethin' to it! :o)

  5. I'm using the back side of my sheets of this paper. One reason I didn't get those stamps myself was because they'd stamp a solid color! But, I think it looks good on the card, and you're right, they'll be great cards for kids--which I find extremely hard to come up with!

  6. I think this is a perfect card for a kid. I think that I do have this stamp set, but I do not have the right paper. (I am so forgetful lately and too tired to look..LOL) Anyway it seems familiar...Do I get points for that? LOL. I just have a whole new perspective of how to use it now. I was always thinking pastels...But I love the bold colors and animal print paper you used more! TFS! God bless, Smoochie

  7. So funny you said that because for some reason I have an issue with solid stamps...even though I see many cute cards made using those stamps!!! My grandson is MAD about elephants and would love this card...it is very cute!! But I find myself passing over the purchase of solid stamps all the time! Must be some psychological thing!!
