Our Daily Bread Canning Jar - Strawberries

My friend Linda got me quite a few *okie isn't sure what to call 1,000* larger envelopes when she was doing an envelope order because the price was too good to resist. I told her I should do some larger cards and this is the first one I have done in quite a while and I find it difficult to fill up all the space!

It took me quite awhile to figure out how to decorate this card and I still wasn't happy with it when I finished but there just wasn't anything else I could think of to add to it. I tell ya a 5.5 x 8.5 card is just hard to do for me! I have quite a few friends who prefer the larger cards and I guess I better get in the swing of doing them so I can use up some of those envelopes. I did share a few hundred with some of my friends.

The papers are from a DCWV stack, I think called Farmer's Market. I cut out the "Berry Sweet" with my Pazzles, along with the scallop frame. The border is a Stampin Up punch.

I stamped the lid section on some gold mica paper and then cut it out and pop dotted it onto the jar. The little "lace" collar is something I designed in Make The Cut. Adding the buttons was an after thought just because the card needed something more.

Of course I used my ProMarkers to color the strawberries. To get the highlights I used the blender pen to take away some of the color.

The sentiment for the inside was printed with Hallmark Studio and I tried to find a font that went well with the font I used for the front. The papers at the bottom were scraps I had left from the front of the card.

I have some more images stamped and colored and I hope to get to making cards with them soon. After the album challenges I need a little break from those for a bit.

Our Daily Bread Canning Jar - Peaches

Last month I shared the stamp set of CANNING JARS and dies I got and I did get some cards made with them but just now getting around to posting them!

The filler for this one is sliced peaches, even though some of my friends *okie thinks use to be friends since they are so gross* thought they looked like something else.

I really need to look up some more card ideas for these since I find it hard to do design and placement with the image.

The border is from an EK Success Punch. I believe the happy birthday is from a Stampin Up set. The oval and scallop oval are Stampin Up punches.

After stamping the "jar" I used my Stampin Ma Jig to stamp the filler inside the jar. They really don't take too long to color and I spend more time finding the right colors than I do actually coloring. Well okay that really isn't true, but if I only did one of an image it would be true.

I stamped the top on printed paper and then hand cut it and the cording out.

I used Hallmark Card Studio to print of the sentiment and it's just something I thought up. I used a few scraps to add to the inside. I really think it looks nice when the inside is a little decorated.

My New Stamp Set By Our Daily Bread Designs

When I went to Stamp Club last month I found a set of stamps with matching dies from Our Daily Bread Designs that I just couldn't resist! I was so tempted to order the Stampin Up canning jar months ago but decided there were other things I wanted instead so I never got those.

Here is a picture of the Canning Jars stamp set and the Canning Jar Dies I got. Another reason I decided to get them is that I do try to support my scrapbook store. So many have closed down over the years I feel very blessed to have a fabulous one in my town that stays stocked with new products and the owners are wonderful about ordering things for us if we ask and I sure would hate to lose service like that.

Once I got home with the stamps I decided to look up and see if I could get some ideas and I found that they had fillers for the jars! Of course I had to order those as well. I waited almost two weeks for them to arrive and when they did I got two of the Canning Jar Fillers and didn't receive the Canning Jar Fillers 2 set. I emailed the company and they quickly replied that they would send me the filler 2 and for me to keep the duplicate or give it to a friend, which I am going to do as I found that my friend Helen had ordered the stamp set.

I wish my store had carried the Blue Ribbon Winner set that included the jars and the labels and sentiments you can use together because now I have to come up with my own labels since the company doesn't sell those separately from the jar stamps.

I am not sure about the smaller jar but I think I am going to stamp a mask and make it where I can use the filler stamps with it as well which I will make a post about later if I decide to do that.

I have used these already to make some cards and I am working on some others and will be posting when I get a set made. Ya'll know how I am about doing a series of cards with a stamp set so stay tuned!
