I'm BAACCKKKKK!! And Doing A Review!

Sorry for the long hiatus and if you are one of my Facebook friends you know I have been quite busy over the summer and fall and for those who don't have me on Facebook I will use this post to fill ya in on what has been going on. And I guess I should say I hope there are still people out there that are interested in what I have to say on here but as we all know I will still be posting even if there isn't because I do this more for me than anyone else *okie thinks that sounds kinda selfish and wonders if she should apologize and then decides against it*.

Back in July I shared I was spending time with my friend Nancy and that is continuing. I did have a male friend I was spending quite a bit of time with since June but we have since parted ways and not spending time together anymore...way too much to even begin to post about on that matter but long story short he quit texting, calling or coming to see me...no explanation, no kiss my ass, no nothing really *okie rolls her eyes as she thinks about how to even explain that one*. I did ask him about it in a text and he said something about "this has to stop...this is crazy" and said he wanted to stay friends. Not sure when it was crazy to ask what I did to make him stop wanting to be around me or not like me anymore but oh well. To be honest I think he started seeing someone and just couldn't man up and say "hey I met someone". I did say we could stay friends but if not then it's his loss and not mine because I am FREAKING AWESOME! HA HA HA But anyway I will now be returning to my craftroom after the disruption from it over the last 6 months.

I moved recently, yes I MOVED! After 16 years of living in one place I moved all the way to NEXT DOOR! I have a much better landlord now and he was actually my neighbor for a few years. I have lost some space but gained a much better and nicer house. My big dread was moving the craftroom and I was correct in dreading it. Luckily my friend Carmen from Houston came and stayed a week with me before Thanksgiving and helped me get it set up. I still have some organizing *okie thinks that is a constant in her life* and rearranging to do but I have a nice workable space now. I will post some pictures tomorrow of my new space.

My daughter moved out and in with a boyfriend but is now living with a friend of hers. She got a job transfer a few months ago and is getting more hours and more pay per hour than she did at her last job so she can afford to be on her own now. I did give her $500 to help with a down payment on a car and she was able to find something nice in her price range. She isn't going to college right now because she is still trying to figure out what she wants to do but has finished all her basics so that is a definite plus!

A bit of exciting news is that I was asked to review the new Cricut Explore *okie watches as half the audience faints dead away*. Um...could someone please throw some cold water on those folks and revive them...thank you! Okay is everyone with me now? *okie looks around* Good! And yes you heard me correctly...I am reviewing the Cricut Explore! When I was asked to do the review I warned Mr. Arora that I would only give my honest opinion and he said that is what he wanted. So make sure you stay tuned for my review! I've just now started with the machine so it will be a process for me, especially trying out the Cricut Design Space software.

Well I'm off for now but I will post pictures tomorrow of my new craftroom!

  6. Wonderful, Okie! My purchase of the Explorer will be dependent on your review! I love your honesty!! Bummer about the guy, but I agree with you when you say it was his loss. It most certainly was!

  7. What a great "catch up" post for the events of the past several months. I am amazed that you were able to sum it up so briefly, because as the events happened, they seemed to be so much bigger.

I am so glad that you are reviewing the Explore. I did get the Explore about a month ago from HSN ... but I have yet to even open the box it was shipped in. Life events have not allowed me the time to devote my full attention to it yet. Luckily, I have till the end of January to decide if this is the right machine for me, and still get a full refund from HSN. I trust your opion and know your review will be an honest one, so I am looking forward to hearing your thoughts.

  9. Welcome back. Glad to hear you are ok and still around. I can't wait for your review of the Explore machine. I passed it up on Black Friday and so did many other people. I couldn't believe it when I saw that they weren't selling.

  10. Wow Shirley you have been a busy lady!! I have to say that it IS this man's loss cause you are a fabulous person, and since he is fickle and all it was time for him to move on cause you just don't need that crap! I am happy that you moved and didn't have to move far! I hate moving-my mom moved all the time, I went to 13 different schools not including the schools that I went to twice, so moving is a bad word for me. lol But I'm happy for you and glad you got a better place and landlord. Sounds like your daughter is doing well too. Oh good, I'm glad that you are doing a review for the Explore. I walked away from buying Cricut products but I still used my stuff, too much invested not too. But I did get another machine, but haven't hook it up yet. lol But...I also just ordered the Explore so I'm anxious to see what you think of it because I know you will give us your honest opinion and that's what we want! Hugs, Brenda

  11. What a wonderful post Okie! Very newsy. Is that a word?! :)
As an Explore owner I'm glad you have decided to accept Ashish's challenge to review it. I know you will be very honest & I have no doubts at all that you will love this machine. :) I never left Cricut as I didn't think I needed SVG's & printing & cutting but now that I have those options, I'm thrilled!
So nice to have your posts to look forward to once again Okie!!

  12. Glad to see you back! Missed you. I'm just a looker, I don't post...cause I don't know how. LOL But I sure do enjoy your work and your writing. If we lived close to each other I'm sure we would be friends. I just bought a Cricut Explore and am anxious to see what you have to say about it. I haven't even taken it out of the box yet because I'm afraid I would like having to only use it online. Happy to see you back and well. Liz Alvarez elizabethalvarez68@yahoo.com

  16. Glad to see you back and posting. I guess I hadn't checked in the past week or so - life getting in my way so then I see you back on the MTC forum and come to check out your blog and BAM - a week or more worth of posts that I had somehow missed. It was good to "catchup" on what you have been doing and seeing that your daughter is growing up, moving out, and getting on with her life in a positive manner! Having a soon to be 18 and graduating in 5 months and a 19 and just finishing her first semester in college its good to see! LOL TFS your stories with us. Since I don't do Facebook, I haven't been privy to all that you have been up to while you weren't blogging! Glad to have you back! MeFlick

  17. Thanks for the update. I always look forward to reading your posts. I'm moving as well, directly across the street (LOL) and so have to pack up my craft room too. I've totally been dragging my heels since I know that I am not going to have as much space and am going to have to reorganize everything! Wish me luck!
