Most of the time I made her cards for every occasion.

When she passed away in December 2009, my cousin gave me a book that had all the handmade cards in it that I had made my Aunt over the years.
But not one bought card was in there, not even the Helen Rice cards that she loved so much.

But from the first ones I sent to her to the last ones was a BIG difference!!
But still fun to look at.AndreaAhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02550803842974472464noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-226280836740630353.post-34106279522316981322011-10-02T11:33:59.375-05:002011-10-02T11:33:59.375-05:00Carol! I know I look back at me earlier cards and think "YUCK! did I actually give things like this to people" A friend of mine had a Stampin Up party and told me I just had to come I would love it, well I fought it because I knew I would love it and would have to have everything to do with cardmaking, well here I am 16+ years later and still making cards, collecting stuff and loving every minute of it. But I am glad that my cards have evolved I can even see a difference from a couple of years ago till nowNana Donnahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11427854694193967271noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-226280836740630353.post-67744232687281118382011-10-02T05:34:21.276-05:002011-10-02T05:34:21.276-05:00Thanx for the World Card Making Day history ... th...Thanx for the World Card Making Day history ... that was good info to know.

Like you, I have been card crafting long before the Cricut was around. I look back on some of those early cards and I think, OMG what was I thinking? And yet, at the time, I thought they were pretty spectacular! Back then, I used a lot of satin flowers, glitter and jewels ... only they were real jewels like rubies, sapphires, emeralds, amethysts, topaz, etc. (I purchased parcels of faceted gems just for card making). These days, I still have a lot of bling, but now I use Swarovski crystals. Luckily, not only do my cards look better now, but they are much less expensive to make too!

We live and learn ... don't we!
=)
Hugz,
CarolCarolhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16519462888786070950noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-226280836740630353.post-45173729496996226662011-10-01T13:27:51.986-05:002011-10-01T13:27:51.986-05:00It's amazing how we've all changed over th...It's amazing how we've all changed over the years with our skills at cardmaking and scrapbooking! The Cricut sure has allowed me to make nicer cards and as I look back I am amazed at what I used to think is attractive. At least your card is really cute. I used to paste colored patterned paper to a solid cardstock attach a ribbon and called it lovely!!! Yes, times have changed...Sheila aka SassyLadyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03638053572834435566noreply@blogger.com
